I have heard of such a combination but unable to get much information out of it.
It is said that having a yogurt diet when under a course of antibiotics is suppose to aid your body.
Has anyone heard of this or any experienced this advise before?
If do care to elaborate on what your physician said about it.

That, to me, would seem to be rather counterproductive. Yogurt contains "good" bacteria that help your digestive system function better. Antibiotics kill bacteria indiscriminately, depending on various factors like cell wall composition. Unless the antibiotic you're taking doesn't, for one reason or another, kill these "good" bacteria, it seems like they'd just be killed off by the medicine, and thereby their effects would be negated.

Thats what i have on my mind, but is it possible that its impossible that our digestive system needs a balance of bacteria for it to function.
hence although the antibiotics and yogurt will be counterproductive but maintains the balance?
But then again the irony would be, would it not reduce the effects of the antibiotics in that matter? *scratches head*
like the example of ankylostoma duodenale hookworm, helps in asthmaic patients.
They are placed in the patients to improve immunity.

Well, I more meant to say that you wouldn't reap the full benefits of yogurt if you're taking antibiotics, but the balance would probably be maintained better if you ate it. It won't hurt you, that's for sure.
