Senior pics Hair for boys?

I generally like my hair to be long and to just leave it sitting there with a little axe in it to keep it from "poofing." My parents have so far forced me into getting a haircut(really short) the day before pictures. This year I really want to just leave it. But just in case is there someway I can make us both happy? BTW my school makes us all wear coats and ties for our pics. Thanks!

I generally get a haircut 2-3 weeks prior the photos, so if the haircut is bad I won't look like a fool. I can also style my hair a bit since it wouldn't be too short.
