Okay, I'm 13, turning 14 in September, and I still haven't had the talk yet. Now I'm not saying I want to have the talk, I'm just wondering if this is unusual. It might be because I live with my mom, my parents are divorced.

Well, I am 14 and I never got the talk and I never will. My parents expect me to know all that crap (use condoms ect. Dont have sex til you get married ect. ect.) My older brother didnt get the talk either and he is 18. So mabye you mom is assuming that you are smart enough to already know the stuff/ figure it out by yourself.

I am 17 and my parents let my school handle "the talk" for them. However, being an episcopalian private school, we learned the science behind everything, but none of the actual practice. The internet is a good resource if used correctly.

I dont like to make "the talk" with my parents, I just asked them to buy me a book about "stuff" and I learned all by myself. You can do the same.

I believe that depends from household to household, and how comfortable your parents are about talking to you about the birds and da bees.

For instance, my form of the talk was pretty indirect and i would say really unorthodox.
When i was 10, my dad come to me quietly and asked me how to download porn using the computer. I gave him ( =.= ) face literally.

But i told him how to do it in the end.

Back to the point, you might get the talk, you might not. But you would roughly be able to guess if your parents are the kind that would lay it out for you. else im sure you have your own sources that guides you.

Best of luck.

I have never gotten the talk and probably never will. My parents just expect me to know it, I think.. And they're really awkward people anyway lol

Consider yourself lucky! My dad caught me j/o one day and the next day we had "the talk". It was sooo awkward, he was talking about things I already knew and he wasn't even aware that I already had done things past that. It was kinda pointless in the end.

"The Talk" is kinda old fashioned nowadays, your parents will already presume you know everything. I never got the talk and never really needed it! And since you only live with your mom i doubt it will happen, that would be kinda awkward haha!
