It's not really their fault, but really the fault of society and how society viewed women. Men were better than women! Women must listen to men! Women must wear skirts and never pants! Women this women that! In the Victorian time period, if a woman was found masturbating, she was declared a nymphomaniac and put in a mental hospital and treated like an animal!
