View Full Version : Fashion Crisis!!

Ok, not much of a crisis, just thought it would be funny. Anyway, I just realized I need new clothes and I'm not much of a "fashion freak." Actually, I suck at picking out clothes. Ever since I was a little kid, I always stuck to t-shirts and hated the button-down shirts. And like every other kid, I hated (and still do) getting clothes as a gift.
Anyway, my "fashion sense" totally sucks. What do guys wear today? I mean, do you wear to go out to the mall? The park? To party? What's casual? I usually wear the same things over and over again like basketball shorts and a t-shirt or jeans and some silky-like t-shirts. What goes good with jeans and when should i wear basketball shorts?
Thank you in advance VT. Also, I'm not a big fan of the skinny jeans. And what Brands are good?
P.S What shoes are good too? My gal friend forced me to get Vanz and I like em. Basically, I'm asking for a mix n' match of clothes and shoes and what goes good together and what's "taboo" and things I should never do.

What I usually wear is just the simple jeans and t-shirt combination. I would usually wear hoodie as well. I wear it everywhere, and that's my casual style. Because I live up north, I wear that year round. However, when it's really hot, I wear t-shirt with some shorts like these: http://ow.ly/5Gczq T-shirts and golf shirts are good with jeans. You can basketball shorts basically anywhere.
For shoes, Vans and Converse have really good styles. I like Nike skate shoes, because they're comfy and have cool colors. Also when your wearing shorts, you can pair with flip flops. They're aren't many taboos except for the obvious ones (eg. don't wear a speedo to the beach etc.)
My sense of fashion ain't that great. My style is just really simplistic.
PS. The only button down shirts I wear are plaid shirts or dress shirts. I rarely wear plaid, and I have to wear dress shirts for school.

Well it seems that I am the same boat as the OP. Can't wait to see all of the suggestions.

Okay. Well. if your going out with a girl just dress like you are going to a wedding. slap on your suit, tie, button up shirt and kakis. now take off the kakis and put on nice dark jeans. take off the tie and unbutton the shirt. not too far tho. you want to show that you care and respect her.
If you are going to the mall with friends just dress in a nice v neck with dark slim jeans. wear skate shoes and make sure you dont wear a hat.
going to the park? same as going to the mall with your friends. maybe slap on a hat if you want
Never wear basketball short unless you are playing basket ball. if you want to wear shorts then get a few pairs from abercrombie or something. other then that always wear jeans.
Plaid is really in style but you should only ever wear one plaid thing at a time. Make sure you stay away from neon and vibrant colours. The fact that everyone wears them it will just make you blend in.
i just read this whole thread. hoodies are fun when you are just with friends. some vans look great with vnecks. i have these but they are grey and pinstriped. http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=vans&um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1067&bih=508&tbm=isch&tbnid=LA3U1KP3p739kM:&imgrefurl=http://most-popular-articles.blogspot.com/2011/07/vans-shoes-history-of-vans-shoes.html&docid=X__zM6CcYyJucM&imgurl=http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yacOy6IjnKA/TiGG6bUOT8I/AAAAAAAAANg/aZeMk09y-eg/s400/black%252Bvans%252Bshoes%252Bwhite%252Bvans%252Bshoes%252Bblue%252Bvans%252Bshoe s%252Bvans%252Bshoes%252Bcheckered%252Bvans%252Bshoe%252Bclassic%252B2.jpg&w=280&h=280&ei=IkbuTvjCN8LZ0QHO27DbCQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=806&vpy=87&dur=439&hovh=224&hovw=224&tx=168&ty=116&sig=109720631692135650752&page=2&tbnh=134&tbnw=166&start=10&ndsp=10&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:10 they are great shoes because they are great to wear everywere they are formal and casual at the same time.
