I have to get a physical in a month and I am extremely nervous. I hate being naked in front of my doc hes a 40 year old man and I am not comfortable naked in the same room with him. :/ Any advice?

Well you shouldn't worry what the doctor thinks about your appearance,I'm sure he doesn't care.He has seen lots of people I'm sure he isn't going to tag you as that ugly kid.


You shouldn't worry about his age or gender,he is a doctor,his only job there is to make sure you are all right,I promise.

I just had a physical. My doc is a guy. I would NOT want a female. Tbh it's so quick it's no big deal. I was never actually naked. He asked me to pull my pants to my knees and he was done with that part in like 30 seconds. Not exaggerating :)

I never quite understand the concept of checkups in the States. We don't have this in Canada as well. Thank god.

Well you're guys check ups are screwed up, because if you have a hernia or a infection you won't know till it kills you or severly hurts you. :)

i used to get nervous before physicals too, but the person is a professional, trained in his/her field of work, and (you hope) is doing their job and nothing more

Ahh don't worry about it they just check if your healthy nothing else they don't care about size or anything there just doing there job.

They've seen thousands of bodies thousands of times. They've touched so many guys "units" yours really won't phase them.

But quite frankly, think about how awful it is for the doctor. He's the one who has to check some random young mans genitals, feeling crevices he really doesn't want to, just to make sure YOU'RE healthy. They don't want to do it, it's for you.

because i play sports all year long i'm always getting a physical for one reason or another so i'm really used to them

if you're nervous maybe having your mom or dad go in with you would help. that's what i do

I probably had that done once in my life. The other time I had a check up was a concussion check up. But schools teach us how to self exam ourselves...go figure.

i just had one done today. it's no big deal. he just tells u to lower your pants, he barely even touches you and your done in under 30 seconds. the only akward thing for me is i just started shaving and i guess he assumed that im sexually active and he just came right out and asked me if i use condoms (i was there alone)
