Has anyone on here gotten into google+? A friend got me an invite to it and now I'm just kind of bored since nothing is really going on with it yet.

If you have me on there try and find me to add me XD

Or if you want an invite PM me.

I don't trust it.
One of my friends has it, and he seems fairly happy with it...

I quite like it and have signed a new email address onto it, but Google has a nice wee habit of collecting personal information, so I probably wont use it. I like the idea of "circles" though.

Circles are like social circles..you add your friends in your circle and then you can share stuff with them (kinda like facebook).

I have one. It's interesting, and I'm expecting a lot more great features in the future... if Google continues on the path that it's on. I'd love to see some sort of music feature, like the upcoming Google Music, integrated into it.

I got an invite. Apparently I'm not old enough, and I couldn't be bothered to make yet another account just for that.

Im waiting on an invite from a friend soon, so I am actually looking forward to it. Comptetion is good for FACEBOOK.... plus all the security issues and personal data "opts out" from FACEBOOK... led to lots of issues. My g-mail info has never been compromised (yet) so I trust google (more than Facebook)

Google plus is like a stalker's paradise, you'll have to change all your privacy setting of don't want some strange creep checking out your profile. Also google tracks you location and information. Facebook is not that great, my account just got compromised recently by a stranger living 2000 miles away from me. Google plus and Facebook are similar, but google is kinda like Facebook+twitter as you can follow people. And gmail is also one of the better online email services.

Isn't Google+ basically a counter against Facebook?

Yes. Yes it is. It won't be long before the two companies start making lawsuits against each other to no end for copyright infringements.

Yes, I do not like the fact (or at least heard) that people can "follow you" on google + without you knowing..def creepy. And both services have security/person information issues. You would have thought that Google would have learned from all the high profile complaints about FACEBOOKS policies. Just make sure to read the fine print I guess and if you are willing to put yourself "out there" go for it.

You people going on about Google privacy issues think facebook is any better about that? Hmm? Google's privacy settings are much more in depth and allow for a greater control of personal data. I'll also add, even if google is collecting this data, they're not selling it. It's their business to have as much data as possible and use it for themselves and no one else because that's how they make their money, by targeting advertisements.

And still I'm sure that not all the settings are there.

They aren't selling it, yet.
Now I have a conspiracy:
When you later go to college or get a job, then the people there will want to do a background check on you, which is only for everyone's good.
Google might, at smepoint, start selling that info to them. For example, when you go and get a job, then your employer is going to go to Google and buy info about you. Google will then go digging in their archives and report back:

Your searches
Your emails, if you use GMail
Your bookmarks
Your Buzz posts, be they private or public
The ads you have clicked on
The Google Plus things you have done
...and stuff you didn't even know they knew

And then cha-ching cha-ching cha-ching goes Google's cash register, if I may put it that way.
And then your employers will know everything(or quite a bit, at least) about you. And that will greatly affect whether or not they take you in/hire you.
Still like it?

I have one and I like it. I really don't give two fucks about my personal info. I'm not posting my address or number, so I don't care. Big problem with it at the moment is the lack of people.

Got an invite, set up an account, haven't done shit with it.

I really like the circles thing, though. It's something I'm surprised facebook didn't already think up.

Oh, don't worry. They'll add that too, eventually. Probably they started on that the minute that Google+ was released.

Isnt that illegal anyway?
Nope. Unless it says so in their Privacy Policy, then they can do it.
And although they might not do it right away, in a few years or so, they'll find a loophole in the law and use that to their advantage; aka sell your info.
