I have asperger's syndrome and this limits my ability to socialise with someone or a group of people. I have to feel like I trust them before I can get friendly and open up a bit more. Every person that has liked me and I have got on with just sums to end up distancing themselves from me. It always ends like that. My bad tempers don't help and when people are just having a laugh/banter, I can't see the funny side. Any advice on what I should do?

Just be yourself thats all you can do...dont change yourself one bit and be open about your aspergers syndrome....eventualy you will find freinds who you get on with and are more acceppting to you....

Also as you do have aspergers you could try going to one of those meetings you reads online where it gives a chance for people with aspergers to "mingle" and "talk"

As Derri said before just be yourself, sooner or later you find someone open to you and who won't mind Asperger's syndrome. Also maybe your extremely good at something, you could show someone your ability that usually helps in the friend making process.

Well I'm very good at playing football and talking about football, and I have made a lot of friends from doing this and also watching my local team. It's just away from that I struggle. Also, I'm not sure if I would be strong enough to tell my friends about asperger's. I would really have to trust them and my fear would be that they reject me and no longer want to be with me because of it.
