alright gamer guys, I've been watching l1games' 4 part video about him building a gaming room, he calls his man nook cuz its a small room
this guy has a great collection of games, he owns a game store so of coarse lol
I am also building my game room and I want to know what your guyzez setup for gaming is.
here's mine: I have a pink (salmon) chair that I sit in, I have a PC connected to my 52'' HDTV, also have my xbox 360 and ps3 hooked up, along with a cable box and reciever capable of 7.1 surround sound. Got 2 small speakers behind me, 2 large under the TV, and 1 ontop of the TV, also got a subwoofer going.
I have
45 ps3 games
20 PC games
39 PS2 games
8 Xbox 360 games
I will soon be getting a job that pays $14/hr so thus will commence more purchasing of cheap games for the PS2
I also plan to add a wii, original xbox, a G-cube, PS1, and basically any system I got.
My collection dream is essentialy everything released in North America

You're looking at about a couple thousand dollar set up (not including the prices for extra speakers, games, etc.). Let me ask a few questions:
1. I see you have speakers set up. Are you looking into getting the full 7.1 audio capabilities offered to you at the moment?
2. How are your two currently hooked in game systems connected to the television? HDMI cable or something else?
3. Where exactly is the room located? You might be able to get the most out of this entire set up by moving to a larger room if possible.
From what you've detailed, I'm very impressed. Hope to get one like that some day!

I wish I had that cash to spend.
But.....can you really afford that with only $14/hour? If you're ok with telling us, how many hours a week will you work? And won't you have to pay taxes and stuff?
And why would you want a PS1? I believe that the PS2 and PS3 will play PS1 games.
Same for the GameCube - doesn't the Wii play GameCube games?
Anyways, sounds good man! You're luckier than me :P

I would suggest you get 5.1 in the room. Trust me, you'll never go back to 2CH Stereo. Speaker placement isn't too hard if you have the space. Since the room is located in the basement, you should have enough to set it up. Here's a speaker placement help:

Now, I would suggest putting the subwoofer in front of the television, not to the right like the picture suggests. That way, you'll get a great thump from your two front speakers.

Wii also plays Gamecube games. Not many people know it actually! If you kept your instruction manual with the system, it will tell you what you need to do. All you really have to do is insert the disc, plug in any Gamecube controller, open the disc menu, and it should start. You can also use any Gamecube memory cards you might have, just in case you have a saved game you want to continue. You can find Gamecube and PS2 games/system anywhere for dirt cheap. I've seen PS2 system go for no more than 15 dollars and games at about 10-15.

Same here, but I'm a "penny pincher", if you want to put it that way. Hence, I always see what kinds of things I can integrate into one system.

Where? My PS2 cost $99.99(new) in December 2009. Is that a used system or something?

Well, if we're talking new, then yes it's $99.99. I was actually talking used since most people here are reluctant to give that much money away in one sitting.

Not really, more like people who try to watch their spending habits. It's not all that annoying but it gets that way after a while.

with finances I am also working with another person to advance the beast of our collection
and with the speakers i have them all like that except the front speakers which i can move a few feet to the left/right and the subwoofer is underneath the tv, is that much different than infront of? also I use headphones alot so I am used to 2ch alot
