This song? Overplayed and nothing too great. Led Zepplin, the same.
Sorry, but I never got into them.

Zeppelin is a great band, but both them and that song has been given a little too much credit over the years, but Stairway to Heaven is a really good song. But played waaaaay to much on radio where i live so its getting a little bit annoying.

Genius, but way too fucking long and overplayed. Zeppelin were a great band, though. Jimmy's in my top 10 guitarists, and JPJ was in Them Crooked Vultures, as well.

Lol, ten minutes isn't long. The majority of songs I listen to are over seven minutes.
Stairway to Heaven is way too overplayed, and I don't find it all that glorious.

It isn't overplayed here. Where I live you'd be lucky to hear it on the radio twice in the same year.

The fuck? Too long? I suppose someone can't take just a measly 10 minutes out of their day to listen to a song then. It's just 10 minutes, how bad can that be? I suppose it's hard for the typical music listener that thinks anything over 3 minutes is "long". I suppose the both of you would crumble that the length of "Supper's Ready" by Genesis (23:06).
I don't like Led Zeppelin. It's mostly because of two things:
1. The "no good music is made these days" people in their 40s/50s
2. The "no good music is made these days" people who aren't even 20
What's the big deal about them? I find nothing more special in their work than any other band. Some good musicianship here and there, but nothing spectacular. I've never been impressed by Led Zeppelin, and I probably never will. I took my time with the first four albums out of a recommendation and just couldn't get the big deal. Typical 70s hard rock. Where's all this greatness people talk about them having?
On another note, what's with the sudden influx of teenagers listening to classic rock? In the past five years, I've seen more 13 year old kids acting like they know good music when they just listen to the same shit all day. Granted, I like my fair share of classic rock artists, but I don't get the point in people mocking modern day music (i.e., whatever mainstream radio shoves down their throat) and saying that classic rock is the best genre ever. Ask any classic rock listening kid to name five songs by Journey or Kansas and they wouldn't name more than 2 or 3. I just hope that my kids don't have to deal with idiots like this.

Where I live we seriously only have 1 station for rock and things of that nature and it's played quite a bit, but then again they overplay everything. It's nothing too special for me really.

Well, in reality it's all personal taste. Nobody can explain how or why they think a band is good. Because, it's their own opinion.
As for the 12 13 y/o's becoming more interested in classic rock these days?
I have absolutely no idea! haha I do have a theory though.
It's possible that since at that age, they're not really into music a whole lot yet and their musical preference in general can still be changed easily. So maybe they're going on youtube and reading all these negative comments on the Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga vids or whatever, and they see then and they just kind of believe the general consensus of them being "bad"
There's a little ramble for you haha

Journey
1) Don't Stop Believin'
2) Any Way You Want It
3) Faithfully
4) Open Arms
5) Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin
^^ Journey is one of my favorite classic rocks groups. I grew up listening to them because of my dad, thank you very much. As for Kansas, I do only know 2 of their songs, but they aren't AS popular. Now you give me Styx, AC/DC, Boston, 38 Special, or Zeppelin, I'll give you a good long list of songs. Not every "classic rock listening kid" just listens to those couple songs over and over again and call themselves a classic rock fan.

One of the things that was mentioned here was that there's an influx of kids listening to classic rock.
I think that's mostly because they look at the T-shirts and posters and whatnot of these bands at Walmart and say, "Hey, that looks cool."
Most kids don't even listen to the music, they just like to say they do for the 'cool' affect. Its what makes me reluctant to wear my AC/DC or Zeppelin shirts. Because I know most kids my age wearing those shirts wouldn't know the first thing about the bands they're promoting. Next time you see a kid wearing an AC/DC, Zeppelin, KISS, or The Ramones shirt, ask him/her to list 5 of their songs. They probably won't be able to.

Stop me when I'm wearing an AC/DC shirt and make me name 5 songs. I dare you. Like I said on the first page, I can actually say that I listen to and enjoy classic rock. I grew up on it. I bet I can name you songs from any band you mention. ^^ I personally love AC/DC, Zeppelin, and KISS. Don't really listen to The Ramones. But, that's besides the point. I don't go around chanting that I'm a classic rock fan just to pose as something I'm not. Most kids I know don't even listen to it, nor wear clothes to advertise it.

I totally agree. I see this happen everywhere, from on the streets to even at concerts. For example, I've seen Bon Jovi in concert 5 times now, and there are people there that don't even know any songs apart from Livin' On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, Wanted Dead Or Alive, or It's My Life. And it's like... really? You paid top dollar for these tickets (because Bon Jovi ain't cheap ticketwise) and you don't even know the songs?

yeah i agree with the folks above me, i see all these kids wearing ac/dc, iron maiden, bon jovi, zeppelin and metallica shirts and when i ask them about their favorite songs performed by the good people i just mentioned, they'd just shrug the question off lol... Over The Hills And Far Away is pretty good, what do you think about No Quarter? i think it's their most dark and foreboding song they ever wrote and JPJ owns it! anywho may not have a favorite Zeppelin song but i have least favorites like Hats Off To Roy Harper and Hot Dog.

Someone did that to me once. They just walked up to me "Oh yeah? Name 100 Bon Jovi songs" and when I did, the small crowd that gathered was pretty speechless.

No Quarter is absolutely one of their best.
What about In the Light? I like that one because it's so mysterious. It's like something you'd hear in a dream.

that's pretty cool... though people here don't really like rock, they just wear band Ts and pretend they are huge fans lol... god i wish i knew where they got these shirts from :(!
In The Light did not really appeal to me first, actually i didn't like most of the songs with synthesizers at first, but then i got past that point lol. it has a pretty good riff tho :). what are your favorite Zeppelin lyrics?

lol You might as well ask me what my favorite Tolkien quotes are :P
But my favorite lyrics would probably be from All My Love.
But I think my all time favorite Robert Plant quote is, "I am a golden god!"

An' though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea"

I only wear band shirts that I'm a fan of. And I get all my shirts at concerts so I've got a pretty good supply of them.
