Some cuts on my thigh are starting to heal. I'm glad....but they're SO ITCHY. I try not to scratch them because they'll bleed. But I want to so bad. I've tried ice to get rid of the itch, but it didn't help much. Can I put some itching cream on it? Will it get infected?

I personally use bandaids to help myself not itch a cut. as for itching cream, I'm pretty sure most itching creams say don't put on an open wound, so I wouldn't use it if I were you

I have sooooo been there.
All I did was itch it lightly enough so I didn't re-open it, but enough to get the itch away. Or you could do the band-aid thing.

Yeah I hate that part. I use some form of cream, usually Savlon. Or some sort of cooling cream, to take the heat away and stop it itching.
I'm not sure if you can put it on open wounds, I always have :/

Well you could put savlon on it, or vitamin E. If it really gets that bad then just scratch it lightly so you can cure the itch, but dont whatever you do open the wound.

Like everyone else have said, i would try to keep my hands busy. And constantly wear trousers or something that covers them cause it makes it harder to itch. It leaves much worse scars if you pick them off (believe you me i know) so avoid it at all costs. Dont use cream on an open wound, wait until it scabs over and so it then.

right my methods arnt really normal but they work for me.
ok so if i have a itchy finger or arm or leg i lick it? but if its on your thigh maybe just wetting it might work.
OR i would try and itch round it, that sometimes helps
OR if it still wont stop itching try slapping it really hard. it might sting but it will stop it from itching after the third or fourth time :)

Pour cold water over it? Or itch around it? Polysporn usually works,u could apply that and then put on a bandaid.
