I personally think that it's a tie between the PS2 and N64. Both were quite powerful for the time they came out and were full of the "wow factor"
...Ahhh, I remember when I got my first N64. I was super excited
but, I also remember when I got my first PS2. I was crying like a proud new mother who just gave birth to her baby! LOL

Whatever has the most power to give me amazing games. Right now, I love my 360. I will like something better when a more powerful console comes out.

So, if it doesn't play games perfectly and make them look life like, it's not good?

N64 for me. I like it partially for nostalgia, but it's still amazing.

If it wasn't for the N64 or the PS2 or the Atari series, your 360 never would've came to existence.

I know, but to me, the best one is what I currently have.

I can have my own opinions, can't I?

Xbox-360. But I do have to give credit to the N64 (Nintendo) and Atari for starting the gaming consoles

Of course haha. I was just saying. If that came out snippy, I apologize.

Time for a girl's opinion! lol
I personally love the PS2 (: My brother has a 360 that I'll play sometimes but I'm not really into all the fighting and war games. On the PS2, I can still play my old PS games :)

I took what you said as "games need to use a powerful game engine". My bad.

PC, yes I said it.

It may not exactly be a gaming console, but it does have the ability to play games. But I'll save that discussion for another time.

Personnally I still enjoy my PS3.

I prefer the 360. The past machines paved the way and as more technology was introduced, they boxes progressed with them. Now, its about power-- and what you were raised playing. If you purchased a playstation then you will prob prefer that series...(from Nintendo). Really, can you go wrong? :-) Id play the latest greatest if i could afford it along with the games :-)

I loved gameboy advance sp. It charged had a light background which could be switched off and could play some of my favorite pokemon games.

PC. Every generation, this last one especially, consoles are just trying to replicate what PCs do. Eventually the line will be so blurred that consoles become arbitrary and any unique features like motion control and 3D imagery will already be possible as add-ons for computers.

Sage has a good point. Though, I've always preferred consoles though. I've grown up with em. I prefer holding a control to a keyboard and the fact that all your friends can just sit on the couch with you and horse around while playing something like Mario Party is priceless...

Many PC games can also be played with a controller, and you only need an HDMI cable to use your TV as a secondary or duplicate monitor. I pirate movies and watch them on my TV all the time.

Playstation is the best video game console. Got pro, ese? I am not in particularly a Microsoft, or Sony or Nintendo fan. But I like Playstation. Not 2 or 3, the very first one.

I love the smell of a hot cd after a good gaming session. Boy, I miss those good ol' days.

I like the Super Nintendo(SUPER MARIO!),N64(First 3rd graphical Mario!),and PlayStation one(Resident Evil,Silent Hill)....but I only have a N64 so I got my ol' emulator on my computer :D.

So I have to agree with Sage, the PC.

Yes, let's agree with whatever Sage says. Obviously, there is no a distinct line between a Personal Computer and a Video Game console.

PC or Atari 2600.
I disagree, it's Magnavox...

Oh, I'm not taking anything away from the PC at all..you could even say consoles are the lazy way out..if you're a lay-gamer (don't game too much)..if you wanted to start..you'd have to do a ton of things to get a good quality game on your pc..consoles are just there

Personally, I favor the 360 over the other modern consoles. I seem to have had the most fun with it. And the new Kinect feature is pretty cool as well, but I feel that the 360 should be more about games with controllers. It feels... out of place. But compared to the PS3, at least you don't have to hold onto little motion trackers. Favorite 360 games: halo series, COD MW2, Oblivion, FFXIII, Bioshock, Hitman: blood money, Mass Effect series... the list goes on and on! But I was never really a Gears fan.

My favorite old school console is probably between the N64 or the PS1. I like the N64 mostly because I remember playing it with my dad as a young child. We mostly played Zelda the Occrina of time and super mario. But on the other hand, the PS1 is what I played with my mom. We usually played one of the spyro games or one of the crash bandicoot games. Ohh the times! :)

How you guys managed played N64 is beyond me. Didn't you needed a freaking third hand?

Also, N64 is not the best console, and the reason is, how many titles were released for N64? 400 games. And out of those, only 20 are actually known, like Ocarina of Time, Wipeout 64(my personal favourite), Super Mario 64, Golden Eye 007, Banjo-Kazooie are only one of the few of the select number of games.

The PS2 just had so many games and a lot of good exclusives. It was my first console. Before that, I used a Gameboy Color and PC for my gaming needs. Needless to say, PS2 was a big step up for me. :P I got it in 2001, and I still have it. PS2 was fantastic. Easily beats the N64.

PS2 has backward playability. Have you played any of Playstation titles?

If the Wii had next-gen graphics and the controls came in one package instead of buying the 70000 separate parts..and it had more variety of games..it'd be revolutionary..

N64 I guess for the memories, but that really doesn't make the best system.. I guess I'm to biased to answer. Majora's mask was my favorite game though so I think N64 is pretty good

Xbox 360 are just boxes with computers in them. Microsoft makes computer software. That's why if you download porn onto your xbox, you can get a virus on it :). & it's terrible cuz you cant install a virus protector.... how sad
