Sometimes when I'm hungry, I just ignore it and think "Whatever, you don't need to eat right now. You'll end up 300 lbs like your mother." The same thing with little snacks. I always under eat. Like today, all I had was a peanut butter sandwhich, 1 taco roll, and french fries. I'm afraid of ending up overweight like my mom. I love her, but I don't want to be like her. Could this turn into an eating disorder?

Potentially, worrying about being like your mum will not help because it might get you depressed. Starving yourself or not eating a lot will not help either. This is not the best way to lose weight, you're better going on a diet if you're really concerned. See a nutritional doctor or even your general GP.
Hope this helps. x

If you let your dieting habits overwhelm you then you may have a problem. However watching what you eat isn't really bad or you.

I think it has the potential of turning into an eating disorder. It's probably good that you know what you don't want to be (overweight), but I think it'd also be good if you kept track of your weight to make sure you aren't losing too much. I have eating issues now, that started out with unintentionally losing a lot of weight, then it just went downhill from there. Just try to stay healthy and keep safe with your eating habits :)

these small habbits could potentially turn into an eating disorder if you obsess about your weight or start to go to extreme under eating. If it gets to that point please talk to someone before its too late.

It could do. If you're scared of becoming overweight, and that makes you want to eat small amounts of food, then it could turn into and ED. You've obviously noticed that it's not "normal," otherwise you wouldn't have made this thread, which means that you can try and work towards stopping these eating habits. Maybe you could talk to your GP?

It really could.
And actually, snacking and eating more, but smaller meals throughout the day actually BOOSTS your metabolism/how quickly and efficiently your body uses the food you give it.
Also, many teens have very quick metabolisms so we're lucky that most of us need to eat more than most adults just to maintain our weight. (;

I'm exactly the same.. it scares me to think I could ever be the same weight as my mum and my mum constantly says things like "you'll be as big as me one day". It's not helpful and for me it did end up as an ED.
The best thing you can do is make sure you are eating a normal amount. Trying to starve yourself will only end up with you putting on more weight when you end up recovering.
