Anyone into soul/Rn B/Jazz/Blues, and if so what are your favorite bands/artist?

My top 5 are : James Brown, Berry White, Ray Charles, Etta James, John Legend

Soul? Not really. Gil Scott, Funkadelic, and Stevie Wonder is all I can really stand for. Some soul music can be extremely cheesy to the point where you want to just puke.

The jazz I listen to is probably not the type of jazz you listen to. Uh, throw on John Coltrane's Live In Seattle album and you'll get the picture. I like crazy sax's that sound like impending doom and destruction, chaotic drumming, fingers aching from playing the bass for too long, trumpets screaming out at you, shit like that.

Blues? I'll take B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Albert King.
