I am positive. Though you or I may think differently, a lot of Americans think this compromise is going to save us from defaulting. In the future, probably sooner rather than later, there will have to be more talks of compromise between the GOP and Liberals, and eventually the talks won't work, thus failing to save us from defaulting.

A lot of people avoid the truth. They don't look at the facts, they look at the alternatives. The 'maybes'. Inevitably, they will be shocked at the result of our political failure, and many will be hit hard financially. Especially investors that have been investing into the American market. There is no market here anymore, and the rising markets are in Asia and South America.

Within our lifetime, America will become something like the equivalent to Great Britain. It's influence will still be prevalent, but not as influential as it had once been. Almost every great civilization has fell within 200 years. We're simply the next to go, and the power will shift where the populations are rising and the economies are booming. Asia (China and Indian, specifically) and South America (the continent as a whole, not any specific country).

In the realm of the personal, such as beliefs held to the self, believing in something impossible can actually be healthy for the psyche, and happiness is more important than being right. Happiness is the highest good, not reason. When left at the mercy of our selves, we are not logical, we are emotional. Very few decisions or ideas we hold are logical, although masked in layers of reason they are subconsciously motivated through feeling. We need to stop pretending we are made out of pure reason, that we function through systematic thought. We don't.

However, in our opinions and actions which affect those around us, logic should be that who reigns as king of the court.
