What's wrong with my sight

I swear my eyesight is getting worse. I'm only 14 and my eyesight is getting terrible. I can't see long distances that well, so need glasses but now it's getting worse. Things seem all blurry to me, and I have difficulty reading my computer monitor from more than 30cm away.

Even glasses don't help, they have a scratch or so I think on them that no one else can see :/ Which makes it even more blurrier. I went to the optician last month and they said my eyesight had got slightly better :what:

My parent's say I'm just being fussy and whatever. But is it puberty as some people have asked, or can it be worse?

Your eyes don't stay at one prescription throughout life, they will still be changing if you're only 14 so this is pretty normal - don't panic!

I've been wearing glasses for about ten years now and have always got through at least one new prescription a year (I'm due for some new ones now actually). My eyes haven't always changed by the same amount each year, it fluctuates for most people.

Go back to your optician and ask for another eye test, say that you feel the last one wasn't done accurately and they should do you another one without issue. If your eyesight has either improved or degraded, the prescription of your current glasses will not be correct. If this is the case, it would be expected that your current glasses aren't really improving your vision and are possibly making it worse.

Your eyesight has nothing to do with puberty. I would suggest that you see an ophthalmologist and not a optician.

Eh, you don't always need to jump in with the big guns blazing, start simple then work up :P It is very possible the prescription of his glasses is just wrong, I've had this issue before. Normally another eye test by another optician resolves the problem.
