Just say that you were getting old and it was possible.

Ethically, Would you have your brain transplanted into the body of another person if you were given the choice?

Would it be a full-body transplant or a head transplant?

Yes, I would. What happens to the other dude's brain?

No.Because eventually my brain would start to die off,or start to get Alzheimer's disease. Also living is an experience, death is part of it.Besides, why stall the inevitable?

Depends on the other person's body.

Like sage said, depends on the donor's body.

You mean donor :P?I'm going to be the grammar nazi now xD.

Yes of course, I would swap the whole body. Since the person we are talking about is my clone. Time to make use of him. His brain is dormant. So, it is fine to take my reserved biological body.

why stall the inevitable?
Why not?

Oh boy. Bioethics. Haven't had that in a while.

That sounds like a good idea, but I already have a heart problem, and unless I altered my gene,my clone would to,and I will probably die from my heart. So I'll go back to the same problem xD.

Plus when I'm close to dying,I will realize I have wasted enough space and resources, and it would be my turn to turn back into those resources.

Ahh the spell check.I've heard way worse spell check mistakes xD!

well i don't see how we got onto the idea of a clone but that was something that crossed my mind. If i was to have a clone at a suitable age that i could transfer into (therefore there wouldn't be issues with rejection i dont see why i wouldn't do it.

If you want Mind immortality, just have a clone of yours, with enhanced genes, finis.

I see it as if we can make it we can use it.

Isn't there a baseball player who had his head removed and placed in suspension in Arizona or something like that to preserve his DNA with the hope of coming back in another body? It does make you wonder where the science community will be in 50+ years

If theories of the afterlife are true, theories like you just chill on earth as a ghost, or you can sit up in the clouds and just watch the earth, or visit other places in the universe, I would be ok with dying, but if the truth is I just rot in the ground then I'd either like to be transplanted, or if technology allows be turned into a collection of energy or even be a computer program haha.

@ Unlucky_Leprechaun

That would be Walt Disney you are thinking of. Or at least that is the story I've heard.

No, it was Ted Williams, the late baseball player. His head is in Arizona.

I stand corrected, it is an urban legend that Walt was chriogenically frozen.

I wouldn't: As you age your brain's perception on time begins to speed up. So If I were to stay alive by having two different Body Transplants (assuming it would work, with all the factors keyed in). My perception of time would be at least 20x faster than yours.

Besides age is a bitch

I just don't like the idea of reliving and doing everything again in a different time.

I can see your skepticism, and the x20 is a bit exaggerated but I'll pm you the sources.

Or juts leave them here:

Then... wouldn't you just be dead? I think you need more of a brain expansion :P

i wouldnt see it as living your life again. I would say transplant from a 60-70 year old body to a early to mid 20s body. I would have the same education and would not have to "Re-do" anything.

Well if I were to be transplanted into a clone of me, then I might. I mean if I wanted a do over.
