I have a question about the little icons

you know how on the far left of every thread there is a little envelope, some are flaming and some have a little black dot? well I want to know what the different icons mean

Go to a forum and scroll to the bottom, has a little key that explains it all.

who decides if a thread is hot?

Go to the index ----> Click on a forum (any one) ----> then scroll down as far as you can. You'll see all of the different envelopes, and it'll tell you what it is.

Chelsea, once a thread has been posted in a certain amount of times or viewed a certain amount of times, it becomes "hot." Any other questions? :)
