View Full Version : PMS or BiPolar?

I often find that when I'm on my period, I get really, really mood-swingy. At lunch, I can be very giddy and happy, laughing so hard, it hurts. Then, on my walk to my next class, I'll become a demon.
The problem is is that it's been happening more than it should, and when I //don't// have my period.
It just seems that I can go from an extreme high to an extreme low too fast. And I've gotten mad enough to want to hurt someone. And that's //really// scary.
Can someone please help me?

PMS can be bad but it shouldn't be that bad. I know there is a certain type of PMS that is a lot worse than the norm and you can talk to a doctor about that, but what you are saying does not sound like PMS. I have bad PMS as well but it doesnt get to where Im that bad. So Im thinking it is more bi-polar.

I'm more inclined to say bi polar because it occurs at other times, not just your period.

It could possibly be a mixture of both.

He meant you, but the same will probably go for the thread starter as well. Go get checked out by a doctor. That is the only way to know for definite about this.

I believe it is neither. It is called puberty. Your body/emotions will be out of wack for sometime to come. Our society has become such a massive plethora of cop-outs most people have no idea that they are bi-polar until their late 20s so it is almost inconceivable to pinpoint the cause of your mood swings to some psychiatric disorder. Most of you are still young, and things will work out for themselves.
Just a thought...

Like Anthony has said in previous threads - people on an online forum can't diagnose you. The best way to find out is to get checked out by a doctor. In my opinion, I think it's hormones, or the bad form of PMS(don't know the name.) Why not bi-polar? Because I think there are more symtoms for bi-polar and like General_Stubblebean said, most of us are still young, and things will work out for themselves.
