It will depend on how big the top's penis is, and if you have fingered the bottom (receiver) to loosen him up. There is no such thing as enough lube, the more the better. Take is slow and go a little at a time to get use to it. Don't forget with anal sex, condoms are a must have.

Might I suggest (to OP) that you ignore anyone posting that said - "I've heard" and might I also suggest (to everyone else) that if you don't know what it's actually like then you don't post 'what you've heard' because from what I've seen it's bullshit anyway.

If you're looking to have anal sex then I'd strongly recommend anally masturbating as much as you can before-hand. Just so that you're less tight when the time comes. Two or three fingers if you can, three is closest to an average penis. When you actually have anal sex then you'll probably want to use plenty of lube and start off slow, don't just ram it in and hope for the best. It does hurt initially and probably will for the first session, but if you do it again then it won't hurt and you'll just get all the pleasure.
