So...today, I turned on my flat iron and pressed it to my skin. And just held it there. It didn't do much damage. I have a few red lines that are slightly swollen, but they're not bad. Is burning like cutting? Is it going to get worse and worse, just like my cutting did? I kind of liked it. I want to just keep burning and burning to test myself, see how far I can go...

Once I heated a lighter up as hotbed I coould and jammed it into my arm and ended up with a lighter shaped 2nd degree burn. Yes it gets addictive like cutting and the scars are worse. So it's a good idea to stop.

Any form of self-harm is often highly addictive and is just as bad for you. I've done this with my flat-iron a couple times. I think burning is one of more serious forms of self-harm. If you can stop, do.

I don't know if I'll be able to. I already crave it. I crave it and cutting both. I hate this. I kind of feel like I'm in a tunnel of hell with this...

Being stuck in that little hell sucks, I know. You already crave it but you're farther ahead. You know there's a problem and by knowing the problem, you can combat it. You know how one addiction works. Do you really want another? You can beat this, I know you can, little by little. And you can start by not adding burning to your list of things to beat.
Sorry, my posts aren't nearly as helpful at 2am but I'm here if you need me. x

Thanks, that's true. I really don't want to be battling cutting, burning, food, and the rest of the world. You're absolutely right.

That's not actually very helpful.
It's a serious addiction and a lot of people feel this way and they're certainly not nuts. They often have no other way to express how they feel and no healthy outlet to release these emotions and turn to self-harm.

I've never...um, wow...I don't know. Maybe I am nuts. But I can't help it.

You're not nuts, so don't even respond to that comment. But burning is a lot worse than cutting, in my opinion. I started out cutting then once it wasn't enough, I started burning myself with lighters. My mom didn't find out until a few months ago when she found the lighter I had hid with my razor and knives. The scars burns leave are worse and more noticeable than cutting scars. Try talking to your mom, a close friend, or someone you know you can trust. And try to stop the burning before you can't control it. All forms of self harm only get worse and tare you down. Please try to get help.

Burning if defenatly worse than cutting,it can leave worse scars than cutting and can damage your body.i used to do something similar,i dipped my lefthand in newly boiled water which have caused my hand to have a really red color and its shaking constantly and i cant even hold my Wildfire with it.went to the doctor Yesterday, the redness will go away in time for school but my hand will probably shake and be weakened for the rest of my life.im not saying that any kind if SH is good but if u cant stop harming urself i strongly recommend to try to just cut instead, scars is better than risking destroying ur body in the way burning does
