This is hard to explain. Several months ago for a while whenever I ate my jaw keeps...how would I say this? getting stuck? so I couldn't open my mouth wide enough but then there's a "click" and I could open my mouth all the way. It wasn't painful, just awkward and uncomfortable. Almost always whenever I open my mouth this happens

It eventually stop doing that, but every once in a while it does that whenever I'm lying down, sleeping or whatever.

Most recently, it seems to be happening again. This morning (I was lying in bed) my jaw started...um acting weird again and I keep hearing what I call a "ripping" though nothing ripped. Again no pain but just uncomfortable.

As I said, really hard to explain in words but there's definitely something wrong with my jaw. I could move my jaw side to side - really fast (could do that for a very long time) and that's not normal at all.

My mom said some bone in my jaw got disconnected or whatever, which doesn't make sense.

Hmmm, this reminds me of another thread, everyone determined it would be best to see a doctor. I have to say that would apply well here too. After all, better safe than sorry. What if it was more than a disconnected bone?

I know that my jaw cracks all the time. It sometimes feels like it locks then cracks a few minutes later and is fine. Never hurts. I don't really think it's a problem because I've dealt with this my entire life and have been fine. (Basically every time I move my jaw, there's an odd grinding noise but it's never been a problem.)

Don't know if this is the same. If it ends up causing pain or really concerns you, I'd see a doctor just in case.
