Semen is the substance that sperm come out in and use to help them swim to the eggs when inside the vagina. And he is right, you cant have semen without sperm. Its not called semen when it doesn't include sperm. It has a different name, of which of i can't remember. But for it to be semen it must include sperm.

Precum is actually not what it seems. Precum is made up of 2 words, 'pre', meaning before, and 'cum' meaning, in this case, before ejaculation.

Semen is made up of two things - sperm and seminal plasma. Seminal plasma is the fluid that carries sperm. Seminal plasma is partially made by the prostate.
