Hi!
I'm reading The Tiger's Egg, which is a trilogy (The Wednesday Tales). It talks about a malicious circus that make people serious, so that they can't laugh anymore. Then, they sell like a medicine: If you take it, you'll laugh for a little while. But this is only the main plot. There are also lots of characters (even an angel and a chatty tiger).
I've also read The Universe versus Alex Woods, which if you haven't read yet, I recommend you to do so. It's sooooooooo good.

Truly good book I've read a very long time ago : I shall re-read it ^^' !
"One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eyes."
I re-read Candide and know, I hesitate between re-reading many books, such as Journey to the end of the night (LF Céline), Les animaux dénaturés (Vercors) or Froth on a Daydream (Boris Vian) :D. By the way the two last are quite The Little Prince-ish in my opinion ;).

The Maze Runner, and not really seeing the big deal about this book
eta - after slogging through the horribly boring start to this book (honestly, the author does the worst job ever in trying to hook readers into a story), I've pretty much changed my tune on it. It's a different way to tell a dystopian story. I still have a hard time actually caring about any of these characters, but at least (after too many pages) I have an idea of what the story is actually supposed to be. Seriously, telling a reader absolutely nothing at the beginning of a book is not good writing.

eh it was ok. Good in a sense, but nothing compared to the original. I was reading articles online and some say Harper Lee did not even want the second book to be published but the family sort of forced it/made her publish it. while it is a equal, I guess this one was written before To Kill a Mocking Bird and it can show in some regards. It is worth the read though

I've been reading "The Cabinet of Curiosities" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.
It is absolutely phenomenal.
The main character, Special Agent Pendergast, is very original as well.
I'm just loving this novel so far.

Just finished Philip Kerr's A Philosophical Investigation, which I quite enjoyed, and am moving onto Peter Hamilton's Great North Road.
On the non-fiction side, I'm reading Roger's Scruton's The Meaning of Conservatism.

Wuthering Heights is one of the best novels of all time, if not the best.
It takes a little getting into, though. But once I had gotten to about chapter 5 or 6, I couldn't put it down.

Yes, Kafka is a genius, I highly recommend it. Most of his other novellas, like Metamorphosis, are just as good too.

That book is freaking amazing.
I did a group study/power point presentation about this book with several people last spring.
It's a very good book.
If you like Brave New World, check out "Ape and Essence", "Island", and "The Genius and the Goddess" ~ all by Aldous Huxley.

Pretty depressing as far as I can say. It has some hideous undertones to it, but is sincere in its depiction of human nature.

I didn't know about Gaiman, but if he worked with Pratchett it must be rather good :) You just give me an idea of what I am going to read then ! I read King's "Doctor Sleep" but I did not appreciate that much (albeit I liked the movie "The Shining").

it is very fitting this fourth of July season I am reading a biography on one of our most important yet sometimes underrated founding fathers, John Adams. The book is simply titled John Adams by a very engaging author, David McCullough. For those of you like history, I would recommend this book or others he wrote (I know I will be buying more of his after I am done with this one). It is a longer read (600+pages) but covers the life of Adams (and consequently, you get a lot about some of the other founding fathers/key players) and McCullough is not afraid to write the bad along with the good. I am about half way done and have found it extremely engaging.

Like SethfromMI said books are so much better in general. I'm really pissed that in Harry Potter movies they changed so much or left out some important and hilarious parts. Some characteristics of characters are different in movies and it annoys me because I'm a huge fun of Harry Potter. But I still love movies and they are great. :) And Harry Potter books are must read if you ask me. I read them again and again and always discover something I missed the previous time.

Totally agree! I am a huge Harry Potter fan as well. The movies are good, but as you said, they lack the accuracy of the books. The books have so much more depth.
