View Full Version : I was fine, why couldn't she see that?

So, a while ago I was really upset due to friend issues, and because of that I was really mopey and just wanted alone-time, but for SOME reason my parental units decided I WASNT fine and that I needed to "talk about my feelings" and what not.

Well, I couldn't, because of the complicated mess the issue was and so I told them I just needed alone time, but was still acting all upset, and they kept saying "we can't help you or do anything for you if you don't tell us what's wrong".

Why couldn't they just have some sympathy, that's all I needed from them (and I told them) But they said once again I had to tell them what was wrong.

How can I get her to see that in a future situation? Honestly, all I wanted from them was sympathy and chocolate and to be bothered as little as possible.

Unfortunately, parents worry. They may not always understand how effective isolation can be with these kinds of issues. If you can, politely explain to them that you need your space; hopefully they will understand.
