i'm going away a week friday for a month, a whole month, and i'm debating whether to take my blades with me.
when i'm out there i probably won't be able to get any, so if i don't take any it means no cutting for a month. i don't think i can do that.

i don't know if i'm ready, y'know?

Listen to Marianne Williamson and remember the rest of that quote, "Your playing small does not serve the world...We are all meant to shine, as children do."

Live by that, you can do it. More good will come from leaving them home then bad. Do it to prove to yourself that you can.

Try to not take them ;) cutting is addictive and if you cant cut maybe you could break this dangerous addiction :)

especially not after tonight.
i can't believe i thought she cared.

I don't think you should take them, but if you do or not is your choice. I had a similar situation, and somehow allowed my therapist to talk me into not taking my sewing needle, i went the ENTIRE trip without cutting ONCE and was so proud of myself, It didn't seem worth it, but it was.

Take them...don't use them. If you're able to leave them behind and you feel strongly enough that you think you'll be able to last that long without them...then don't take them, but what you don't want is to go there and every minute you wish you had brought them. Take them in case, but put them in the very bottom of your suitcase(or whatever you'll pack them in) and try even harder than usual not to use them.

Don't bring them. After a month of no cutting. The mental addiction that you have for it will be gone and you'll realize it's not so bad to not do it.

say i don't take them, what if i'm thinking about it all the time,
and when i get back, when i have open access to them, what then?

Originally I probably would have said don't take them, make yourself last.
But I just got rid of mine, I don't have money to buy more. And I regret it, really bad. It's just made my worse.
So my advice is to try some sort of trial, make sure you are actually ready. A month is a long time to go if by the first day, you realise you made the wrong decision.

Of course i'd much rather you didn't take them, didn't cut. But I think you really need to think about this decision before making it.

Take them. Like you said, if you wanted it ALL month than got home and used them, it could be bad. That happened to me once... I nearly had to go to the hospital...
