As Sailer said, you can not delete your account. You can however go bag and report any of your posts that are causing an issue and have the mods edit them for you. You can then log out and never return. I think you may also request to be frozen for X days if you pleased.

I just don't see why the accounts can't be deleted? what if the people don't want this to be here anymore? it annoys me. As far as i know, i didn't at any point agree to any terms or anything, saying that i couldn't delete this account when created.

the reason you cant delete is because if you have given advice to people that would also be deleted which isnt really fair on those people

Actually long ago there was a way to unregister. Your posts stayed, and your profile disappeared along with anything that wasn't a post.

If you look up the wizard (the founder) and check his posts a lot of those forums will have unregistered users.

^^^bottom poster is unregistered (do not bump by posting please and thank you)

Later on unregistering was a little more like being banned where info was still there (partly down on the first page)

Now we just simplified it and got rid of unregistering (first post, lol :P)

read this (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=101635)

12. How can I delete my account?

The truth is you can’t, just log off and don’t sign back in if you wish to delete your account.

as everyone else said, if you don't want to be here anymore, log out and don't come back. There's a reason why accounts can't be deleted. I believe accounts will only be deleted for certain reasons but not because you don't want to be here anymore

Well i see that you have linked me to the PLEASE READ thing. But, if i first read that AFTER i made my account, doesn't really help me much. I'm sorry if i seem upset, but it annoys me, ALOT. And yes i see that my advice would disappear, i think people should still have the advice, i just don't want my account to be here anymore. I know it seems stupid to you guys, but it doesn't to me. If i change password and all that, the user IFWT will still be here. Is there then at least a way that i can do so it can't be tracked by my email? I know i seem very upset but i have been judged by people a lot, by what i do on the internet, and i'm just not enough man to stand up for myself and say "well, i do what i want to do".

Actually he's right about that. Telling you that you can't be unregistered isn't fair if it's not in the FAQ. That announcement is merely a thread, not an actual FAQ. On the FAQ page it doesn't clarify anything about account deactivation or deletion except through violation of rules. Clarity should be put in place, at least as a foundation to support this rules because as of right now it's a "because the mod said so" circumstance.

Correct me if I overlooked it in the actual FAQ.

The FAQ/Rules are currently in the process of being re-written/revised to include new rules that are currently enforced, but not stated in the FAQ, and also to simply make the rules easier to read/understand.

@ the OP.
If you're afraid that someone may recognize your username, you /can/ change it to something else.

Is there then at least a way that i can do so it can't be tracked by my email?
You can't be tracked by email here, as email addresses aren't public.

Okay well thanks everyone! i guess i'll just have to live with it :) sorry about my raging here! And i think the "you can't delete your account" should come out more clearly when you try to make an account. Just saying. I guess that if you really thought about it, it makes sense, but when you are 13-18, you don't think about that in the first place do you :)? anyways, have a great time everybody, i'll be changing as much as i can, and never come back :) thanks everybody!
