Hmm not sure, you may have a virus/spyware program thats messing with you. Try reformatting computer. Also make sure your computer meets Half Lifes minimum computer info... If it doesn't then you may need to spend some $$ and either update your current comp. or buy a new one.

Have you Reinstalled since you Got the computer? Maybe the Video driver is a little corrupted? Try Updating the Video Drivers. See what that does.
How many Watts is your Power Supply? What Model is Your Video card? It's possible that the computer's not getting enough power to Handle the load on the Graphics, and it's causing it to reboot.
Is it getting Blue Screens when this Happens? If so, right click on My Computer, hit Properties, go to the Advanced Tab, under "Startup and Recovery" hit "Settings" and make sure "Automatically Restart" after System Failure is unchecked. And, See what the Exact Error is on the Blue Screen (Usually in the form 0x0000000, or something similar).
Do you know under what other circumstances the computer will do this?

This kind of problem is caused either by compatibility issues, power shortage, viruses and spyware, or any combination thereof.
I would first run virus and spyware scans. If you still have a problem after that, you should update your video and sound drivers. If you still have a problem, try reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work, you might want to check the amount of power needed to run your computer under full load; if it exceeds the amount the power supply is able to deliver the power supply will restart your computer.
If you still have a problem, try taking out unnecessary cards in your pci slots, and if you have another video card or onboard video you may want to remove or swap that, too. If this solves the problem, put the various hardware back one by one, and if the problem returns after adding a certain piece of hardware, you've found your compatibility issue.
If all else fails, write all your music and pictures and game files, along with anything else you want to save, to DVDs and reformat your hard drive using the Windows CD and reinstall Windows. Don't immediately reinstall all your software. You want to install all your software slowly in case the problem returns, that way you know what was causing the problem.
Hope that helped :D

Hmm well first yes I would scan with a good scanner.. AV. NOD-32
And spyware search&destroy but NOD should cover all of that...
If that won't help check your CPU's temperature from the loading screen where you can press Del just find the hardware monitor and check a few reliable sites to see what your MB's and Proc' temperature should be
If it is too high clean your fan/s
And if that isn't the question, complete reinstall of windows

That isn't very thorough, nor would the computer restart from the processor overheating. Processors are designed to lock up when they overheat, thus producing less heat and allowing them to cool down without restarting.

This really sounds like a virus or other malicious coding.
Restart your computer, login as usual, then bring up a command prompt (start >> run >> type in "cmd" without quotes) and run it >> type in "shutdown -a" without quotes and press enter. See if it says that it aborted a shutdown - if so, very good!
Now go to your web browser and go to http://www.filehippo.com/ now look in the middle section and find AVG Antivirus 7.5... Download it, install it, update it, do a full system scan.
Come back with any problems that you encountered (and the results of the scan).

That's assuming he's aware of the exact second it's going to reboot, and assuming it's a shutdown initiated by a program to Windows, and you're fast enough to abort it.
Question to the OP: There's no Little Square Dialog Box that comes up with a Big Red X in it that says something about some process has been terminated, or windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer, and ticks off like 30-60 seconds and then forcefully reboots, right?
Does it go through a usual Shutdown/Logoff Screens when it Does this? Or, is it a Flat-out Hard reset, where it goes from the App you are in to a black screen and then the POST Screen?
You might also try looking through your Event Log (System & Application, which I believe is done by running "eventvwr.msc") and seeing if you can see a problem at the exact point it reboots.
Check the Exact time when it dies, and check those logs for the time it happened, and see if there's any noticable errors, and tell us what they might be.

No... that's assuming that malicious software may set a timed shutdown with a random value each time the computer is booted.

Lol I think anyone who has a computer should be able to know how to monitor their hardware and simple things like that, and it can be from heat it can.. It can also be self caused if you let a idiot behind your computer or do something stupid yourself, either way I am sure he can fix it now

If a video card or a power supply overheats it may shut down, but not the CPU.
