Ok im a Sophmore in High School..Ive had about maybe like 8 girlfriends over the years but lately it seem that any girl i like always says that they like me "more as a brother" i personally hate it when girl say this stuff...NOw i cant even find a girl that im remotly interested in...they either have boyfriends or they arent interested...

Any Advice?

Actually by gay i think he was referring to it meaning that it sucked, which is rather prejudiced, but my advice is the same as Kasabian's, wait for the right girl, you'll find her eventually.

Even if he was intending for it to mean dumb, what he said is still prejudice, since he's using to gay to mean dumb, he's stereotyping homosexuals, referring to them as stupid. So never say stuff like that on this site, football, keep the gay remarks for when your having a conversation with your friends.

As to using gay instead of dumb, that's really silly. Just say stupid or dumb, by doing that you wont insult anyone and everyone can be happy, mmkay? It isnt that hard to stop using gay when referring to something stupid, I used to do it too, but then I realized that it hurts people and personally, I dont like to do that when the people dont deserve it, so I stopped.

Gay also means happy :) not just homosexual

So your also stereotyping the use of gay as homosexual rather than happy. So to be fair you can't really say 100% which meaning of gay he was altering, + gay is considered a slang for stupid or dumb in lots of the world, just like fag has a slang meaning(in england fags, or commonly known in the US as cigs, is an everyday word).

So while it may be considered as meaning homosexual by some of the people on this site(a lot of them are people I really think are cool people), it is not understood as one set meaning all over the world.

the point is, that you shouldn't be banning the usage of words on any site: 1st Amendment, the right to free speech. If you break any amendment, you can be brought to court for being unconstitutional. Almost every word evolves from its original meaning and you see that here. Dont tell someone that he /she cant say Gay, because then they mean Fag, which then means Retard, which then means stupid. So, the phrase, "God your gay," can mean stupid, or homosexual. The overall point is, that every word can be offensive in some way or another, it's just something that you need to stop crying over and suck up. In ___ years, the usage for Gay as Homosexual might be totally extinct. Instead, Gay could transitively mean stupid. As of right now, the word Gay is used most commonly as Homosexual, and transitively as stupid.


I just think that people who are homosexual need to stop whining about people saying Gay, when not directing it towards them, and not meaning it in the homosexual meaning. That goes for every word. If someone called me Ugly, or any other name... take t like a man and suck it up. This goes for anybody, any religion, any race, and sexuality, anything.

Well you see I am not American nor do I fall under American juristriction so that really doesn't apply to me.

But what you did is you used the word "fag" in a degrogatory way. You were attempting to insult another member with it.

Now if you have a problem with me giving you an infraction about it you have options. You can make a thread in the HQ so another Admin can look at it or you can PM one of them.

I love how hockey dude thinks everyone should take everything like a man. He seems to think that everyone is thick skinned and shouldnt worry about what other people say at all. If someone insults you and you dont like it, you dont have to "take it like a man" and ignore it, you can fight back and tell the person you dont like it. Also, Alex, this may not be others' business, but its an important piece to this case. You PMed me, like a good Admin would, and you told me that i received an infraction because i used a word that can hurt a large group of people. I explained with that post up there^(by the way, i posted that almost a week before i was infracted) that i was NOT using it in a derogatory way against a group of people. Sure, you can say that i was using it in a derogatory way towards the one individual, but you told me that i received the infraction because my word can hurt a large group of people, but again, i wasn't using it in tat meaning.

I had it when i was a freshmen, and I REALLY see it now that i'm older; The hormones are insane, and I got chrushed by a girl. one minuet a bf+gf are madly in love, the next they dont care. I thought i had found "The one" haha... Not likely for a freshmen...

Just think before you act, cuz if you get yourself/your friend pregnant, it can be tough... i've seen it happen. (But not to me, i'm just a lame dude with nothing better to do than sit here and do nothing... have not had a girl in over a year... )
