OK. I am really interested in a table (Ipad2, Galaxy tab, etc..) The question really is..with the marketplace flooded with them..it is really hard to decide which one I want. I know there are Android, Apple fans and even Microsoft OS fans so help me decide what I want to get. Thanks !
3G/4G would be great but adds to the overall cost and operating costs and need to be considered in the equation as well.

This is going to sound odd coming out of a die hard Microsoft fan, such as myself.
But, at the current moment, the iPad/iPad2 are the best tablets out there. Both in terms of the hardware (Features, build quality), and the software. iOS was designed solely around touch interaction. Whereas Windows-based tablets aren't. And those based on Android, or other OSs, in my experience have been buggy and slow as hell.

A lot of that decision is best dealt with research and the opinion of the shopper (that's you jmac :P)

I have an iPad 2, I'm typing this on it, and it's absolutely brilliant.

I say Android all the way. Just wait for Ice Cream Sandwich to come out. I have a cheap Hauwei tablet that I hate. It's not the OS but build quality is basically crap. I'm going to buy a Ice Cream Sandwich once they come out soon

I would get an iPad (I have always wanted one), it has great hardware, and iOS is awesome (And iOS 5 that's coming up too!)

I'm typing this on an iPad 2. I have played with the motorola xoom galaxy tab and acer tablets and the iPad 1 and 2 are far more superior then them. They may have better specs but the iPad works a lot better and faster than the others. Also the iPad is actually one of the cheapest tablets on the market depending on which one you get. There is a reason the iPads "top competitor" this year the motorola xoom has only sold 125,000 units and the iPad 2 15 million units.

And for an example When rotating the screen on iPad to landscape mode it does it almost instantly but when switching to landscape mode on the xoom you have to sit there for a good 5 seconds waiting for it to switch.

I'm getting the asus transformer I can't stand my iPad anymore. It is a great tablet, 10.1 inch screen 1280/800. Android 3.1. The best part is, it starts at only $399 for 16gb
That's $100 less than the iPad. It is great.

Thanks for the comments everyone. For the price and apps store I am def leaning towards the ipad2. Im not much into wanting to manipulate it as much as I want ti be able to surf/email and just be stable great looking and do what they say. I don't want lags or crashes and from reading this and many posts on sites it is between the galaxy 10.1 and the ipad2... I'm just wondering when the ipad 3 will come out and if it will have a better camera

See, the problem with the iPad two is, it makes you boxed in. Lets say u don't like the keyboard on the IPad, you can't do anything about it because there is no jailbreak for iOS 4. If you are on an android tablet, and you don't like the keyboard, you can just change it. You talked about apps, the apps on the app store on the iPad are A LOT more expensive than the apps on the android market. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3N9MmKy87s&feature=youtube_gdata_player)is a comparison between the two, you may see android is superior to apple.

Good informative video, app store went to Ipad2. The Asus has it on price 399 to 499 starting but Asus no 3G/4G options available. Android Honeycomb real new and Im sure ICS will attempt to change things once again. I will def try and put my hands on the Asus prior to purchasing anything. Actually there are going to be ALOT more options soon in this segment of the market..bringing in more options, which is always a good thing. App prices .99 to 14.99 depending on what u want... i mean a dollar for most apps isnt that bad... ya they add up over time....
Again, thanks for the video and comments....Just FYI. I am not an apple or Android fan ..actually have neither... so whichever device/OS I ultimately choose will be a learning curve to me.

Yes, I agree that the apple app store has more apps, android was made for open source meaning, android will out do apple really soon because apple is so closed. but there is no such thing as intrigration. Meaning, from the camera you can not post photos to Facebook or twitter. That will get really annoying having to switch from app to app trying to pout a pic onto Facebook. I mean yea, that may sound like no problem, but it adds up and will become a hassle to do. But when you get into things like multi-media and such, more often than not, android tablets are a lot better because of aspect and viewing angle. It may sound like I am blurting out random info that you may not care about, but it will be useful to know when you buy a tablet because when it comes down to it, specs are everything.
