Ok, so, summer. Stressful time for all of us, (well, here in england we don't get much hot weather, but when we do, it's stressful)
So, the question is, how do we stay coverd up while not over heating?
Obviously, if you feel comfortable enough to show your scars, go for it! They're a part of you, and you shouldn't be ashamed of that. But I realise that's not always an option, so, this thread is for everyone to share their ways of covering up and staying cool in hot weather.
So, there's the obvious ones:
Bio-oil-it works wonders, but it does take a while to work, so get started as soon as possible.
concealer/foundation-it isn't always effective, but if you have the right tone, it can help.
Skin coloured tights-can camouflage less prominent scars
thin, cotton shirts with long sleeves-pretty self explanitory.

So yeah, my mind's gone blank, but feel free to post your own suggestions. :)

I have a kaftan top thing, which goes over my bikini so nobody notices them :)

When I go swimming I wear longer swim shorts and just claim that I'm chafed badly and don't want people to see. For me my arms are easy to explain. I just say that I had a tree accident when I was younger. Other times I wear bracelets, wirst warmers, or those really thin almost see through long sleeve shirts.

I was always very careful not to cut too far down my legs so that I can wear short shorts that aren't too-short (I can't wear those god-aweful daisy duke things...). I wear shorts that are at least the width of my hand long and mid-sleeved cardigans. I've always worn a cardigan, so no one ever questions it. Mine usually go to a few inches past my elbow so they cover up where I most often cut, because the scars beyond that are barely legible.

fake tan i find is great if you wanna cover scars or cuts that are healed and have not yet scared properly
ive just started useing bio-oil and it is magic =] only problem is it takes so long to work
my thighs are covered in scars as is are my rib area so board shorts and a tankini top are what i go swimming in
but if anyone has anyway of covering scars and cuts on your ankles and calves it would be greatfull as in going to spain in 3 weeks, and the bio-oil is dumbing them down but their still obivious -_- and i dont want to have that convo with my parents in the middle of my holiday >.< so any tips, do please share =]

Cecily, try to get some concealer AND base and some powdered as well, also some extreme hair spray. Layering it all ontop of the scars and/or cuts and them spraying them down can help.

Well I have a nice little sundress that helps cover any scars/cuts for when I go to a pool or whatever, and usually I try to go for shorts that are long enough to cover them any cuts. I actualy try to cover my cuts more then I do my scars though, my scars I'm more or less confortable with, fresh cuts that spell words into my leg... well... I think you get the idea...
