I don't believe in aliens but I believe in other forms of life.Other forms of life are Aliens. They are not original to earth; hence, alien.

I would be surprised if the science dudes find out sulphur or phosphor based life forms.

Something like that. We don't know what they are like, they could look just like us. Hence why I don't consider other forms of life 'Alien'

I thought I heard something about about some scientist finding a life form based on phosphor in California?Or I might just be going mad .

Anyways,I'm almost positive there is some other form of life on another planet,I mean comets are part-made of dust,a lot of dust is made of dead stuff.

Now to say it is more intelligent then us could be controversial.

of course there are aliens. The universe is ENORMOUS. im 100% sure theres at least one species of single-celled organism somewhere out there. 99% sure theres a multicellular organism out there. 50% sure there's a humanoid alien species out there.

Well if you can think of an appropriate term that cannot be associated with that caricature then go ahead.

--

Considering the span, and still expanding, of our Universe, I think it is highly likely that some other form of life has to be out there. I think that beyond our lifespan (i.e. 2050->) we will find some other form of life - be it bacteria (most likely IMO) or the "green man". Sure, there was evidence was found of As-based life recently wasn't there?

*correction: It is a theory that life in the Universe (i.e. "other" life-forms) may be based on As, not that they found As-based life in Space. Apologies*

You basically said word for word my thoughts on the subject. I don't think we will find even a single cell organism in our lifetimes though :(

Yeah, I believe in aliens, and I believe that some form of life is intelligent. The universe is a big place, I'd be more surprised by what isn't out there.

If there are other intelligent life forms out there, they must not be interested in our humble planet Earth or are unable to reach it. Therefore it would be logical to assume that these life forms are either just as advanced as we are or are behind us in terms of technology. Or, they could be so far from our galaxy that they do not know of our existence, which is probably the more likely scenario.

Other life forms in general, yes, I do believe in. Space is infinite; we have no way of knowing if there are other planets harboring life, complex or otherwise. To believe there are other human-like beings out there somewhere in the universe is not a completely outlandish prediction as, although the same conditions for our galaxy must be met on the most miniscule scale, it is not altogether impossible that another solar system has the exact same conditions as our own, thus being able to harbor life. However, if there is life besides our own planet Earth, it is probably not complex enough to evolve into high life forms.

The surest sign that other intelligent life forms exist in the universe is that none of them have tried to visit us!

And how exactly are they supposed to know about our existence?

may be we cant even see aliens coz they live in an other dimention our eyes cant see and our body cant feel... it may sound stupid but how do you prouve ther are no other dimentions and the univers is so big if the only place life worked out was earth then... well seems impossible to me to be alone in the univers!

My spelling checker just blew up.

Also, you're suggesting that aliens live in a different dimension? I'll wait for evidence of such a thing in the first place.

The sad thing is that our observations of other inhabitable planets near us are inaccurate - we see them as they were decades ago. If there is other life around there - or even near us, which I'm sure there is - we may never see it.

bobby1273
June 23rd, 2011, 03:54 PM
@TheBGSamuel Yes there are quite obviously other dimensions and yes we can't feel them like we can't really feel the dimension of time. If you go by super string theory there are 11 and 23 dimensions (if string is clockwise then 11, if anticlockwise then 23).

Now to the OP, if aliens exist and decided to travel to the earth it would take so long for them to get here that our Sun would have destroyed its self long ago (and with it a good chunk of the solar system and all life here) and the aliens would have died of old age. Also they would most likely die on the way here by all the radiation and particles ripping through them and completely messing up their DNA (or equilent). So in my eyes the existence of other life should not bother up one bit and because we will never encounter it, it can approximate to not existing (whether it does or not).

Very good point. We see stars that may not even be alive any more. Everything we observe from space is ages older than the present, because it takes hundreds of thousands of years for the light from these objects to reach us on Earth. So do we really know what is true or not about space and our galaxy? We can't be sure.

I have seen weird things, I mean unexplainable things. I won't go into that right now but I mean, we live in an infinite universe, how can there not be some other form of life? I'm not saying that there are little green men on bars, but there just has to be more. Scientists just proved that on one of Saturn's (I think, it's almost 3AM so my brain isn't in full gear at the moment) has LIQUID water below it's icy surface.

I believe there has to be some other life out there in the universe. It doesn't stand to reason that we're it, the only lifeform. Just look at the varied types of organisms on this planet alone. Whether if it's a singled cell or some actually humanoid like creature, there's got to be something.

Yes. I believe in Aliens. I believe in other life forms. I even believe that there has been secret communication of some sort with some "Aliens" Space is infinite, we have no idea of what is really out there. And other humanoid aliens that are similar to us in a way, might not be able to know we are out here. If life could happen on Earth, it can happen somewhere else, somewhere that we might never reach to.

It is funny as I was reading about this today...

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/06/29/is-ufo-mothership-over-london-video-real/?test=faces

Link to video is in the story...interesting...unexplained... sure...but I am not quite sure to call them "aliens" or not...actually, truly..not sure....
As for my thoughts, could there be life out there? sure but who is to say they are smarter and more technologically advanced than we are? I am sure there are planets that are capable of sustaining life --maybe not as we know it.-- but who is to say we are the only ones in the universe?
ALIENS= A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY

I do believe in UFO's However,...... UFO ..Unidentified Flying Objects,
I think people see something in the sky, which they can't identify, they report it , and then all of a sudden you have every news station in the country rushes out to some farm land and it turns out to be some weather balloon from the AMS :D HA, HA

So, you don't believe there's life out there anywhere in the Universe? The, possibly, infinitely big universe with millions, if not billions or trillions, of galaxies?

Well, let me answer that by saying, NO, not the way the Hollywood movies portray them and the alien conspiracy theorist do as well. But the second part of my answer would be, I think the possibility of "life out" there is probable, but just not in the form that many people expect.

Oh, and for those of you who may not know, AMS stands for American Meteorological Society

Alien life is highly probable, although I doubt they're greed humanoids with 3 eyes and antennae.

There is even a possibility that alien life have different dimensions, so even if we come into contact with them, we can't fully understand them.

I too believe there are aliens in this universe. Although I don't believe we've ever been visited by aliens. Here's my take on some theories

Area 51 - a place where top secret planes have been tested, which is means for all the security, by the way the planes that have been tested/developed there include the SR-71 Blackbird, the Stealth Bomber, and the A12

Roswell 1947 crash - theorists figure that right about 1947 after the crash our technology advanced so fast so quickly and I feel that it was because of all the money spent and put into technologies in WW2 that allowed the government to get more money. Also the Military industrial complex exploded after WW2 to where they got so much money from the private and mainly public sector that allowed them to invent computers, SONAR/Radar, microwave ovens, SCUBA gear, cell phones ect

Marfa Lights - Marfa, Texas is a place where weird lights are seen over the horizon, well over the horizon where all the lights are being reported there is Highway 67 which dips a bit here and there, coincidentally enough it dips and rises where the Marfa lights are reportedly to be sighted from the official viewing area, so car headlamps go up & down, look that direction in the daytime and you'll see cars going up and down slightly to appear as UFO's

Well there's my 2 cents

Still ,with all the asteroids, planets, meteoroids, and other space debris,I'm sure there has to be at least some single cell organism out there.Like I said above, they found a asteroid believed to have fossilized bacteria life on it.

I know....I wasn't disagreeing with you...just stating something.

Any ways, and if there is intelligent life out there, and knows of our existence I don't think it would+ let us know about itself for many reasons. For one, people would be flipping out,can you imagine all the panicking?Thinking the alien are going to destroy or some other reason. For two,I'm sure there are some people that would want to either attack it or they would want to kill it,cut it up,and see how it works.I'm almost certain someone would do that(if they could).

I believe that there are other life forms out there! The universe is HUGE! Heck on the Milky Way Galaxy's arm of Orion (The arm that our Solar system is in) can be other life forms! (: (Those who don't know, the Milky Way is a spiral galaxy with multiple arms, and the arm that we are on is called Orion–Cygnus Arm.)

I think there is a posibility, with the vast and expansive cosmos in which we are a part of, it feels foolish to think we are the only life to exist. Our own existence was a magnificent dice throw so to speak (although I do understand that in actual probability, the possibility of our existence is 1 since there are no other outcomes to compare to). That being said, we don't really know for sure, but it's foolish (I feel) to simply say no until all other posibilities have been ruled out.

Well sure, why not?
I believe in them. Maybe not the typical hollywood aliens that come to earth and abduct people.

But out of the trillions of galaxies out there, I'm sure there's another form of life. Maybe not like our own here on Earth, but something.

Our galaxy is one hundred thousand light years across. What makes you think that within the galaxy there isn't any life? There are galaxies 40 times bigger than our own. What makes you think nothing else exists?

I don't nessacary believe in little green dudes, but aliens as in other life forms, other humans. 101% Yes.

You can't just say were the only ones in infinite space. I somewhat Im starting to believe those thories that other life created life here. They are so belivalbe. Think about the Great Pryimads, How did they build those. Some believe that other life forms helped humas build those, or left those on our planet.

I believe in all these alien sightings, our friends coming to check on sorry, but the shit world they created.
