The Dreaded Talk

hey,
i only live with my mum (complicated) and never had 'the talk' (few) but what was 'the talk' lyk for u. What did ur parent talk to you about?

Luckily for me, I have a very open relationship with my Dad. I am comfortable in to talking to him, should any questions arise. However, I had the "Talk" with my older brother, it was much easier.
If you are wanting to talk to your mom and are a little weary, just remember that she too was once your age. I am sure that she would be happy to help you clarify things and assist you with your questions.
I like to say this....The only stupid question, was the one that wasn't asked.

You can get most of your questions answered now without the "talk" but if she is dead set to have one just appease here and let her talk. Getting information from your brother or another trusted adult ( say Uncle) might make mom happy knowing you have talked to someone and got some answers. My talk was brief with dad and didn't really get into specifics...use condom...blah blah.. plain and simple and to the point. < than 5 min if I remember right.

I cant belive people still get the "Talk" i mean it really must be either a big thing in america because a lot of people i know who have had the talk...i mean most of us already know what sex is by the age of 13 so really parents need to grow out of this.

i come from the uk and we get tought sex education form around primary 5 (age8/9) and we even got the basics in primary 4 (AGE7)

I only lived with my mom when she asked me if I wanted to have the talk but I just told her that's what sex Ed is for.
