my history teacher at my school is the best. hes is always there to help me out with class work advice about problems at school and at home. he sympathizes with my situations but tells me whats what. hes one of the few teachers i can trust. I feel like i need to tell someone about me smoking pot. telling my friends isnt the same cuz its cut and dry with them. the ones who smoke say its fine and the ones who dont say quit. its weird cuz i want to quit but i just keep doing it when the opportunity presents itself. should i talk to him about it???

There's not really any need for you to tell him anything, but if you feel comfortable enough with talking to him about it then it should be ok. Teachers typically will be there to provide moral support and will help with your judgement. Personally I would say it's the same as smoking, side effects vary only slightly, still having the same major problems, so I would recommend trying to quit.

It's still an addictive drug, so of course you're going to want to smoke it when the opportunity presents itself.

Also, are there not any school Councillor's that would be better suited with talking to about such a topic? Or maybe even the school nurse, who would be able to highlight affects to your health.

Yes, it's illegal. But a teacher is generally marketed as a trustworthy adult who you may talk to about problems such as these, they're not going to pick up the phone and dial 911 on you. As long as they don't catch you smoking in your school uniform or on the premises anyway.

Tell him if u want
Teachers are not obligated to report that.

Don't tell him. Legally, he should say something. By telling him, you just put him in an awkward position. If you want to quit, quit. He won't really be able to tell you anything other than that you should quit.

Why the fuck would you tell someone in authority when its obvious they will pass it on? Go doctors or just quit and say no. You have a voice use it.

I accidentally told my history teacher and he did nothing; he's referenced to cannabis use pretty casually and jokingly in class anyway. But he's really too liberal to safely hold a teaching position... :P

I wouldn't recommend it. You should see someone like a counselor if you want to talk about something that could potentially get you into trouble, a teacher might see themselves in an uncomfortable situation if you were to tell them - that wouldn't be fair on them, and could have negative effects for both of you.

I agree with Donkey. Even if you trust them, he might feel like he has to act on it for your own good or something. has the potential of ending badly for you. Seeking out a counselor or a peer hotline is probably the best advice.
