My iPod touch went through the washer for a half hour. I hit the center button, and it never worked, so before I break something from running electricity through it, any way I can save [salvage] it?

Stick it in a bag of rice overnight to dry it out. That should take care of any water still left inside that could be shorting something out.

this except that it can take up to 2 weeks to adequately dry out electronics, and also it may have already shorted and be done. but if it hasn't, leaving it in rice for a good period of time will often do the trick. the little packets of silica gel you get in new shoe boxes are good too.

Might want to consider shaking it around in a container of rubbing alcohol. It might displace the water which might have imperfections that will ruin electronics. Also alcohol dries more quickly.

You know those packages of rocks when u get new shoes?
Well, those rocks actually suck up water and turn into jelly
If you can get your hands on a few packs of those rocks pout them in a bag and let it soak up. I herd it works

Try rice. Leave it in there for a day or two. Worked for my phone one time.

Thanks guys, suggestions worked. Battery life is a little shorter, but that's nothing.
Reputation shall go around eventually.

Problem has been solved.
There's not much you can do for the battery life. Hopefully it's not a big change.

It just has to dry. Once I left my DS in the snow all winter and it took a month for it to work no bag of rice. But the point is it worked. Your iPod should be fine and there is no big loss of expensive electronics :D

It's about a 10%-20% faster battery drain, but it's covered under warranty.

I feel like the unluckiest person in the world because my iPod went through the wash, and the screen is completely white. It still plays music, but it's basically like a shuffle, and I can't figure out if I'm playing my music by album or what. So next month for my birthday I'm getting a Touch.
So basically, I'm sad, because my Nano was my baby D: And he died. My mom drowned him and then overheated him Dx x3
