College isn't really bad,it's just in some sense a bit of a scam.Wow that sounds so stupid.College would be good,if not everyone was going.Lol.

It's a descent little conspiracy theory documentary thing though.

Plus these people want you to buy their silver, but then again the way the dollar is going,I don't see it as a problem X].

I think it is important because it enables you to get a well paid job and perhaps a job that you might enjoy, rather than cleaning toilets.

Did you even watch the video?

I took the worthless time out of my day to watch the entire hour, and I must say, it's some intriguing stuff. It definitely sheds a lot of light on a problem which I already knew about, but just barely. Mind you, I'd like to see citations for their statistics, but overall it was a very eye-opening video. Nice, because I was expecting some Internet loser to ramble on about how college sucks.

No, I got better things in my life to watch videos like that. But do explain to me the gist of it. I'm intrigued.

It was talking about how college loans are being controlled by the government not banks anymore, they're using it to get us in more debt to be their slaves. It also talks about inflation.Oh and talks about how you could get same good jobs w/ or w/o a college degree because everyone is getting a degree. Then it talked about online college, silver n' gold, farmers getting rich, watch out about money and college.

Little biased, but it was very informative and as Lithium said,Eye Opening.

Also claiming it's the new house bubble.

What part of any of that did you not understand before you posted your opinion:

I think it is important because it enables you to get a well paid job and perhaps a job that you might enjoy, rather than cleaning toilets.

What made me laugh was even after the dude established:

You still used a similar excuse when LithiumAneurysm asked you if you even watched the video.

No, I got better things in my life to watch videos like that.

On a side note, I don't usually give any attention or importance to conspiracies but this one was quite interesting to watch. I already kinda, knew some of the things pointed out in it but it was definitely worth watching. I... haven't fully formed an opinion enough to debate it yet though.

That's terrible logic. That someone has time to spend 20 minutes on a forum while multitasking does not imply that one has an entire hour worth of time to watch a worthless video.

That's what I hate about conspiracy theorist crap. The price of admission is always some stupidly long video. I don't have an hour to waste on this stuff.

Anyways, that video is such a steaming pile of BS. There are obviously some problems with the education system, but like all conspiracy type videos this one makes a ton of useless arguments, ties it together with vaguely ominous music and a bunch of other conspiracy theories, and then packages it up all nicely.

I'm quite happy with the degree I have and the value I've gotten from it, but I went to a good school and got a good degree. The idea that an education at any school will get someone a great job just isn't true, but it's 100% possible.

wait a minute even if you spend only 20 minutes if you watched the video for a good 15 minutes that was enought to know about what was going on. and these things aren't BS these things open up the eyes of everyone to view things from a different perspective instead of most people narrowed minded one point focus deal.

yes you said you attaind a degree but do you have that dream job that (which is true) the education system pushes upon you so you believe that getting a degree automatically gets you that job?

15... 20... maybe even 30 minutes wont kill you. and you are not a good debator if you choose to debate without first learning about the subject (proven in the quote). you cant debate without first getting educated on the subject or else you are talking out of your ass *cough cough* so if you dont feel like getting informed on a topic first i would suggest staying out of it.

lastley.... hey they might be trying to sell you silver that is possible but that is just an assumption

Dude they are recommending that you buy it before the next financial crash. Gold and silver will rise in price and the people who purchased mass amounts of it will become wealthy.

Alright. Bullshit.

"It takes a certain kind of brain to understand the language used in textbooks"

Yeah. One that's TURNED ON.

Do I think there are paths other than college, yes. But this shit in the first 3 minutes is telling me this is another whackjob consperacy theory.

1. "revised" additions: You DON'T need the newest possible textbook.
2. the textbook market is being taken down by Ebooks, not publishers/colleges colabing to "keep you from buying used textbooks"
3. High schools, or at least good ones, give paths other than college, beaause some people can't go and some people honestly shouldn't.

If I have a free HOUR to listen to this and knock it down, I'll do it.

you no high school is when you learn about basic principles that everyone should have to no college on the other hand is when you r finally done with school and learn how to drink and have sex which is wronge it should be learning how to live and do your job correctly and that is what most colleges do today.

College is a conspriacy?
The whole thread is made for trolling ,seriously guys.

The high schools MAY be insufficent, I agree. But that doesn't mean this is a madman scenario.

There's 2 answers to this question:

The first answer is that I disagree the education system "pushes" the idea that getting a degree automatically gets you any job, and anyone who believes that is a bit of an idiot. You have to work hard and have marketable skills to get any job, from really shitty to really amazing. University will help with many of the skills necessary for a certain class of jobs, but so can other types of education, and many of the skills you need (interpersonal skills, communication skills, friendliness, etc.) can't really be taught anywhere. Anyone who literally goes to college thinking that they'll automatically get an amazing degree upon graduation without anything else required is delusional.

The second answer is... yeah, pretty close. I could think of a handful of things that I'd rather do, but for a first year job out of university it doesn't get a lot better than what I'll be doing (management consulting).

Dude they are recommending that you buy it before the next financial crash. Gold and silver will rise in price and the people who purchased mass amounts of it will become wealthy.

I seriously question the gold/silver bugs. If this is all an asset bubble (as I seriously suspect), there's little value at all.

Please speak use correct grammar, and get a spell checker. It's hard reading when you have no punctuation, spelling errors, and more grammar mistakes.

We done learned good at school 2day!

A lot of people in high school are having sex and drinking sadly.

I believe school is what you make it,you could either put in the time to learn and do your best,or you could go there, talk with everyone, not learn anything at all,and be a drag on society @[email protected]

There is absolutely nothing wrong with college and a higher education. In fact I'm going to college this fall to get my own degree. Howver as much as getting an education is rewarding there is something fundamentally wrong with the college system. The price of education is severely outrageous. The thousands upon thousands of dollars these institutions charge cannot by any means be justified.

Nowadays you have students graduating with a hundred thousand dollars or more full of debt. Today our students are practically having a mortgage on their backs, just only without the house. These enormous debt burdens are bankrupting our generation. The worst part is that student loans cannot be filed under bankruptcy so one you sign the dotted line you can not by any means walk away from it.

Its a major problem that is affecting so many people. So many young adults are signing themselves up and getting into a mess. They are being brainwashed by their parents and teachers alike to go to school and get a degree by any means necessary. Not fully understanding the potential consequences.

College is absolutely not for everybody and that really needs to be more made aware of. Alternatives need to be made and presented. The notion that you aren't going to get a job without college just is not true. There are plenty of craftsman and vocational type occupations that do not require a degree. There are jobs out there that people can do that can only be learned by on the job training that no professor can teach. We need power, running water, electricity, construction, demolition, farming, landscaping, welding, public transportation, and auto repair man. Do you need a college degree to learn those things? Absolutely not.

I believe there is an education bubble present. These continuing rising prices are really not sustainable. When student loans stop inflating the cost of tuition then colleges will be forced to competitively cut prices.
