What about an Elite? I believe the Elite cannot get ring red either.

Any non-slim can rrod, but the elite is less prone. The slim got rid of the 4 red light rings but gets a red light instead but very uncommon. If you wanted to sell your current one for a
Slim, if not just don't let it overheat and such.

Thanks i just don't want to take a risk im keeping it from overheating and it's working fine still - i have the arcade it was built Januaray 8th 2009

RROD happened to mine, sent it to Micro and got it back the next day.

Sold it for a slim and I don't worry about it anymore.
If you want to stop it from overheating, buy a couple of $10 clamp fans at Walmart and stick them around your xbox, I do that for my laptop and it works great :D

The red ring isn't the problem. The red ring is there to let you know that theres a problem with your system. The older models have problems, but they fixed those problems in the new models. There is still a red ring, its just there to let you know theres something wrong, but the new models are less prone to have something go wrong.

The Slim doesn't (or very rarely) overheat. I've fallen asleep and had it running for over 15 hours and its perfectly fine. The slim has a pretty good cooling system. On the side theres a huge vent and theres a smaller vent on the back so it circulates pretty damn well.

I heard they fixed most of Xbox's flaws and problems (including the RROD) with the release of the Slim...
