I'm not sure what this is. But I don't want to go to my doctor about it, so I'm asking here.
So right now I'm taking cancer medication. To get ready for the treatment in september. And it has some bad side affects, I'm pretty sick at the moment. I can't keep hardly any food down. I'm vomiting really bad. Specially when there's food in my tummy,. I make myself throw it up. Better if its controlled.
But even before my cancer diagnosis, I was doing it. I can't stand food. Specially in my stomach. And even though I was skinny, I didn't eat for days at a time.
And now? I don't know. God almighty :/

Right.. im not going to moan at you. But how do you know the cancer drugs are making you so ill if you dont try to keep food down? No wonder your so weak and tired you havent got any enery from the food.
Matt this will become an obsession. I can almost promise you, your scared of it being inside you because you dont want to throw it up.. uncontrolablly.
This is where this word comes into it.. control. You want to have control of when your being sick and whats inside of you. I get that, but its really really bad for you. How are you supposed to concentrate with no energy?

Ihave tried to keep it down. But having it in there makes it hurt. And makes the eventual throwing up worse.

Yes but being sick is dangerous.. really really dangerous. Have you tried different foods.. like instead of eating chips like you did the other day have soup.. something you dont have to eat lots of to feel full.

Those chips were the exception though. On a normal day I have.. a jam sandwich. And loads of tea.

Well thats not enough, your replacing your meals with liquid.. the tea doesnt do anything.. other than relax your body. You need to increase the amount of food you have. Do you not feel hungry?

Well kinda. Not really. Even when I do feel hungry, not worth getting sick.

Depends on how big that meal is, yes you could.. as long as overall your eating more than you are now.

I know. Matt you need to find an equal balance.. still be eating, just not throwing it up. I know you cant control what the meds do, but it will get easier to deal with over time.

I agree with everything Fran said, but I wanna add something, your body needs food to heal. It needs you to have the energy to get better. Eat foods that will help you to get better, lots of vitamins and minerals, snack regularly, although if you're feeling sick, maybe dry toast and crackers will be best. Just make sure you eat and keep down as much as possible. I know it's horrible being sick, but if you leave it till the medication makes you sick, it should mean that more nutrients are released into your body before you get rid of the food.

Maybe you just aren't eating foods that work well with your medication. Try base foods; low-salt, plain foods such as bread or non-flavored crackers. Chicken broth is also good. And remember to take small sips of water; don't gulp down a glass, that will make your belly hurt worse.
And don't force yourself to throw up! :( Although it may make you feel less pain if you throw up on your own terms, it can become an addiction just like everything else. You want to avoid that habit completely!
