Listen to the wind sliding through the leaves.
Listen to the soft voice whispering in your ears.
Listen to the stories it has brought for you,
Stories collected far and wide for so many years.

Listen to the stories of a pirate captain and his crew,
Lost at sea, drifting aimlessly in the deep blue.
Listen to the stories of a king and his empire,
Lost it all, to the enemies steel and fire.

Listen to the stories of the young girl and her doll,
She has no parents, no where to go home to tonight.
Listen to the stories of the young boy and his pen,
He just wants to be understood, be it his only plight.

Listen to the stories of the war vet and his rifle,
His pain and anguish that the masses call trifle.
Listen to the stories of the misunderstood addict,
Unable to cope, going insane locked alone in her attic.

Listen to the stories on the open winds, unchained,
Their stories of heartache and turbulence all remain.
Listen to the stories, the sorrows and the screams,
Their heartaches all remain, lying under ashen dreams.

Listen to the stories of the young love and their fight
To prove that what they had was true and alive.
Listen to the stories of the parents and their unborn child,
Struggling to pay the bills, for each other they will strive.

Listen to the stories of the orphan boy and his tears,
Wiped away when the new family drove up today.
Listen to the stories of the aging man and his years,
Fading away with each second, wishing it was still yesterday.

Listen to the stories on the open winds, unchained,
Their stories of hope and tomorrow still remain.
Listen to the stories, the laughter and the smiles,
Their joys still remain, shining through heavy trials.

Listen to the wind sliding between the leaves,
Listen to the stories it has brought for you.
Listen to the wind, and the knowledge it bears,
And share with it your own stories too.
