Why does your voice crack when going throught puberty. I know that it cracks and then gets lower but why couldn't we just wake up with a deeper voice?? It's odd...

voice cracking is complicated, but it basically occurs because of growth of the larynx and vocal cords, but if you want accurate info, search voice cracking on google or someother search engine for an expert's point of view

i personally didnt, and never do unless i try to sing a note i cant reach...
it happens (i believe) because the vocal chords are not well excercized during the time that they are being stretched out

The crackeling in your voice most usually comes in from your layranx growing, and the strein we put on it by talking. So basically, there isn't anything we can do about it, but wait it out. If you are so inclined, just cut back on the talking for a little while. Trust me, it does more good than harm.

Your voice cracks because your vocal cords are developing. When they're not fully mature, it becomes difficult to control them, and your voice cracks as a result. Our voices can't change overnight simply because your vocal cords take years to reach full maturity. Don't worry though, my voice stopped cracking after a short while. Mine started cracking 8th grade, and stopped through half of 10th grade.

yeah see, i have a low voice and i havent cracked very much...say probably under 10 times. yeah but the reason why your voice cracks is because your vocal chords arent fully developed and your brain is telling them to perform differently to make your voice lower.
if your trying to reduce cracking, drink a lot of water, dont talk as much, dont try to talk lower than you can/put strain on your vocal chords (i know a lot fo kids who try to talk lower...haha its pretty funny when you hear them sing a low note in choir or something and they arent any lower than their speaking voice)
hope all that helps.
