Why aren't new mods announced anymore? As in the people being promoted, not the application, in case there's any confusion.

I notice them and then I always feel like I have missed something because I didn't see and application thread. Then I realize that mods don't have to be announced they can be Pmed.

To be honest, I never saw a need to make a big deal about it. In the past, it's led to more fighting/trolling than a congratulation. Also, the only reason I see threads being made announcing as useful, is when there is an application. That way everyone knows, from seeing the thread.

Indeed. I've seen a few done so in the past. And if anything, let the announcement threads lead to fights. It helps weed out the immature people who wouldn't otherwise be able to handle the job appropriately if they were later promoted.

Well if y'all can remember correctly. There never was announcement for my promotion. It's not a big deal. Y'all could make a thread upon noticing or flat out congratulate them somewhere. The way the mods come and go, there would be a lot of threads now eh? lol It's alright man, I dig what you're saying, but we just don't do it all the time.

Staff changes happen so much that I always figured you all would get annoyed at the constant announcements. Like recently, Kyle got promoted, Connor resigned, Donkey joined the team, and now suddenly Charlie resigned. There will probably be a replacement soon enough too.

Point is an announcement would probably be really annoying for people since its always changing. I wouldn't mind if things could be more stable and predictable.

I think it would just be hard for us to keep up with it all. And by not announcing it, it's a nice surprise for everyone. Plus the new staff get to see if anyone notices the change and I'm sure that can be amusing.

Yeah I resigned. I have to sort out the problems I am having at the moment. I have been very distant with my family lately, and I have to fix that bond. I know it was sudden, but its for the best

People can make an announcement thread in the TWPR if they wanted to but its really up to the staff to decide who to choose if you really wanted to you could just congratulate the person in a visitor message there really isnt a need for an entire thread
