so i got out of school last week, and this kid started a fake rumor about me a month or two ago that i watch gay porn......he knew it was fake, and my ex. girlfriend made him tell everyone it was untrue..

But now, him and one other kid STILL keeps holding it over me even when they knnow its not true....

(and to people who have seen my previous posts in the relationships category about that kid noah who was trying to irritate me by coming onto my girlfriend, that's the same kid)

i dont know what to do..help would be appreciated...i keep saying its untrue and to drop it, but he keeps bein a *pardon my french* douche

A rumor is a rumor man. Once its out there you can't just kill it. I feel for you because denial just brings it down harder. Best thing to do is ignore it, which is hard to do, because the more you respond the 'fresher' it is for everybody. Also, remember the ones bringing it up are watching you to get their jollies from your reaction. Hang in there dude!

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do when someone starts spreading fake rumors. I wish I knew how to tell you to make him stop but ignore him as best you can. Your real friends will believe you.

I find that joking away rumors is the best way to deter them.

A lot of people have rumours created about them, some with more truth in it than others. If you know it's not true and those close to you know it's not true then ignore it and move on. You've said it's difficult to ignore, then try harder. I've had to endure more than my fair share of rumours about my sexuality and it's not the end of the world.

Rumors are part of life. Denying it doesn't help because they just keep it up. Try to ignore it or joke it away like others. Saying something like "I sure do" in a joking/sarcastic tone.
