Hey guys a few years ago I found out that I had a pilonidal cyst. For those of you who don't know, that is a cyst under your skin, right above your butt crack. My dad had one before me, and the doctors said that they are very common. What was weird was my doctor wanted mine to heal differently than my dad's. My dad had his heal closed on its own. So he needed to get it patched up by my step mom everynight so it will heal. He was out of work for a month or so I think. But for me, my doctor didn't want me out of school that long, so instead he stitched the hole closed and let it heal that way. I only missed a week of school. But I don't think mine healed weirdly. I still cant sit directly on it without me feeling the pain, and I think it still bleeds evey now and then, but nothing regular, and it is a pain because now I have a little crevice and lint gets stuck up there, but anyway i wanted to know:

who has had a pilonidal cyst?
have you had surgery?
how did your doctor decide to heal it? and
do you still have problems today?

Thanks. :D

No I have not had one, nor is this my field. If you are concerned at all, either go and see the Doc and tell him whats happening, ie it still hurts alot, or just give the office a call and see what the recommend.

Not to knowledgeable with this one sorry.

Let me know if you need anything, and Ill study up for you, to help you out :)
