Final Harry Potter book due out in July

Rowling announced the publication date on her Web site.

Bloomsbury, her British publisher, said it would publish a children's hardback edition, an adult hardback, a special gift edition and an audio book on the same day.

Scholastic Children's Books, the U.S. publisher, said it would offer a hardback edition at a suggested retail price of $34.99, a deluxe edition at $65.00 and a reinforced library edition at $39.99.

Bloomsbury noted that this year is the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first "Harry Potter" book in the phenomenally successful series.

The "Potter" books have sold 325 million copies worldwide and been translated into 64 languages, Bloomsbury said.

The last book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," sold 2,009,574 copies in Britain on the first day of its release, Bloomsbury said.

The Potter franchise is so important to the company's earnings that it announced the publication to the London Stock Exchange.

Bloomsbury shares were up 2.2 percent to $4.40 after the announcement.

i think having the 5th movie coming out a week b4 is good marketing. people go and see it and get all revved up about Harry Potter, then they cant wait to get the new book. ill b on a bike trip then, but once i get back in august thats the first thing im doin....readin the book. Somebody ruined the Half blood prince for liek me and 30 other people. if someone i know ruins it for me, i will punch them. like its the last one and if i get in trouble i dont care, i WILL hurt whoever ruins it for me, i wouldnt have to worry about any of my good friends cus im bigger than them and they know id hurt them if they did this :P

i think its good that they did the movie before the book even though i won't see the movie until like a few weeks after it comes out (my dad hates the prices!)

hmmmmm not likely about the parents....they're dead and....as you recall in the sorcerer's stone....dumbledore clearly says the dead can't be brought back to life.....kinda sucks don't it??? i liked the parents...

Scholastic announced today that the American version of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows contains 784 pages!

This makes DH the 2nd longest book of the HP series.

That would be the all-time happy ending... BORING! I don't think JKR will just leave us with everyone happily ever after. She has got to kill Harry too; if she doesn't people will just come out with more books about whats gonna happen to harry after this and stuff... plus its just boring!!
