I know there not a drug like how most people think like weed herion coke and stuff but I have found it to be a great way to cope but i realise its also been destroying my body. Like I have alot of money (alot that cigs cant dent if i smoked every secound of my life) so ive been smoking more and more every day. I'm living with my friend savannah right now since i got kicked out and its been four months and they dont mind me smoking or how much i do. What are all your opinions about cigs and stuff. Like is it better to smoke then to cut and burn? and how should i go about quitting. I have alot of people around me including my biological mom who im moving in with in july who also smokes and its all around me :/

Once you start, it's a bitch to put down. Trust me, I know. I think that it is a bad thuing period, and I know that, but I do it anyway. It's either that or kill someone. When you do decide to quit, I'd look into nicotine patches or gum or something like tht. I wouldn't go cold turkey.

You think it's helping you but it's not. It's a win/lose situation. Yeah you feel better at the time, but your body is being destroyed from the chemicals. There are so many other things people can do to cope with stuff, but they shift to stuff like smoking and drugs.

Well, they don't inflict the same amount of pain as the other. I wouldn't say smoking is better than the other and vice versa but they both affect you in a certain way. I could understand why people cope by smoking, as my father does it too. I'm not saying it's easy to quit. It's a stupid choice but you always have to find a way to deal with life.

I know that you want to justify the cigs by finding things that are worse, but both you and I know the harm that cigarettes do. Sure, it probably makes you calm and feel better; but there are other things that can do that too, things that have a much lower potential of addiction and lung cancer. There are definitely people who smoke for a long time and continue because it's still enjoyable. However, there are most continue it because their body needs it, and they can't resist the urge.
My father quit cold turkey, and it was the best decision of his life (he constantly reminds me). If you can beat it now, do it. Any addict will tell you the pleasure of continuing is not worth the pain of trying to resist later on.

Cigarette smokers actually have higher levels of stress than non smokers - tobacco helps at the beginning, but it actually makes things a hell of a lot worse once you've succumbed to its addictive properties. Try speaking to your GP about the options available for getting help with quitting :)

Dude it is so unhealthy, not to mention the smell and second hand smoke, but most importantly it will kill you! Actually nicotine is more addictive than heroin. I suggest you contact you stop smoking cessation program coordinator at the health dept. And Donkey is correct, it is actually a depressant.
So stay beautiful, Quit Smoking :P
