I believe that some who suffer from these disorders should seek professional help. If they can't control their sexual desires that is. What if they can control their actions? Do you think if they still go in for help, they will be able to deal a bit more with the disorder?

Those are NOT mental illnesses. They are disorders.
Solution- Just cut their weiners and balls off - Chinese know how to do it.
Seriously now, trying to reform a pedophile is no different then trying to reform a homosexual. It’s just not going to work. However in depth psychological analysis is a good start for learning more on the issue.
Solving the problem of pedophilia, hebephilia and ephebophilia will be impossible so long as the roots for such mindsets are left unattended.
Blatantly persecuting and punishing people for there crimes are not a solution to the problems, it is simply a means to cope with an ever growing infection.
We forget sometimes that these are still people and in so are no more or less capable of committing these crimes then anyone else. So this isn’t an issue of eliminating some kind of invasive species and once there all gone that will be the end of it. They come out of our own systems and so we need to think of it more as an anomaly within ourselves then an external threat.

Those Athenian Heathens started the fad, therefore those dirty Boy-Lovers are to be blamed for everything! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pederasty_in_ancient_Greece)

Sorry for the mistake. I'm aware of the fact that it can't be cured. True that anyone is capable of committing the act but do you think that those who go for professional help, will somewhat help them cope with the disorder?

Hmm... by professional help you meant therapy?
I understand electro-shock therapy works well.

I understand electro-shock therapy works well.Electro-shock therapy doesn't help those who have paraphilia. Electro-shock therapy works for those who are heavily depressed, manic and catatonic.
Basically, ECT makes people more active and less depressed, and a bit happy via the act of stimulation(in this case, electric stimulation)

Electro-Convulsive Therapy has also raised many ethical issues as far as psychological treatments are concerned. For one they haven't really been proven to cure, plus it's suspected that continuous shocks leading to convulsions can damage the brain.
Hurray for A level psychology
I feel like it was a subject worth studying.
