I'm going on a Disney World Trip with my school later today. I don't want to die from heat stroke because I'm wearing a longsleeve shirt. The makeup will come off, I don't want funny tan lines from my bracelets. Should I really hide my scars if I have to go to all this trouble? I don't think the people I'm rooming with will say anything about them. If people ask, should I tell them the truth or say I had a tree accident? Any advice?

Personally i would keep them covered. But you choose what is right for you, if they are not too bad anyway then people wont notice unless your constantly staring at them. So dont show any signs you know they exsist and have a good time!

Pretty much what Fran said.
As long as you're comfortable with it and so on, then go for it! And telling them the truth or not? That's actually up to you and if you're ready, etc. And try acting like they don't exist. Don't draw attention to them, then there's actually not a huge risk people will notice, at least if they're not horribly visible.
Just be sure to have a fun time! :D

if you are comfortable enough for people to know then great. some people have them on show and are proud of who they are and they are not fussed who knows about it. i personally envy these people i would love to feel that way about it but its all personal preference.
the only thing im going to say is be absolutely sure that's what you want. because once its out you cant take it back.

I don't hide them. No one has said anything, except doctors and such, and occasionally I'll have someone who REALLY is concerned about me notice the new ones. But overall, I've never had any questions asked. I wish I could say that I don't hide, but I do hide the ones on my legs because they're just horrible. But I'm proud of them. There's no point not to be. I don't advocate it, but if I felt bad about them, it would hold me down. So I just forget about them. Easy for me to say, though, huh? :P
Honestly, I say if you're comfortable with it, don't hide them. But don't do it if you're not. Excuses are a great weapon to use just in case. Mauled by a cat, fell on a glass table, and one I've used in the past is that I was playing with my brother and the ball went into a thorn bush, reached in, and got my arm cut up. It worked perfectly. Though you might want to use something like the glass table if they're much worse.

I don't hide them anymore. No one says a word about them unless you draw attention to them. Only people who have asked are really close friends. I say go for it. No one will say anything most likely, and if they do then it's your choice what to tell them

Really, it all comes down to how ready you are. If you don't cover them, there's a risk someone might ask. Do your parents or any of your teachers know about your cutting? If yes, then I say leave them uncovered and you can always make up an excuse. If they don't, you have to realize leaving them uncovered presents the risk they'll find out.

It depends on if ur comfortable. If u do deside to not show them, make sure u find other ways not to over heat. U could always say,"unproctected sex with a porkupine" to laugh it off,or something like " My cat went crazy" or...the truth. Its up to u. But like Dark Defender said, once its out u cant take it back. So make sure ur ready.

Personally I dont hide my self-harm scars and other pains I give myself because I make them look like accidents so I have a valid excuse and everybody believes it but if I would cut (which I did use to do for a short amount of time before I couldnt be bothered to hide my scars and pains anymore) I hid them
