View Full Version : I Hurt (Poem)

I hope you know how much it hurts
To be infected by the Bad Touch
With skin touching burning, melting skin
Unspeakable sensations
Sending shocks up your spine
And bile into your throat

I hope you know how much it hurts
To feel a scream bubble up
And held within your chest
So that it doesn't escape your lips
Overwhelming fear telling
Red panic to sear through your eyelids

I hope you know how much it hurts
To fight for just one more breath
The one you feel is going to be taken from you
Strongly, Swiftly
Just as easily as you could take it yourself
When things are normal

I hope you know how much it hurts
To love the things dearly that everyone else takes for granted
Like safety, comfort, breath
Only because they don't know what's at stake
There's so much at stake
I just hope everything will be okay

I just hope you know how much I hurt
Because of you

I was reading this in the middle of class and started crying because of the intensity of it. I really like it. It's amazing.

Thanks guys. (: Glad you like it.
It was written after I'd had a really intense flashback. This is the first one I've written in forever that I'm satisfied with. (:

I like this a lot. It's very moving. You seem to articulate what you feel very well, that's a gift.
