I'm from Scotland, which is not known for it's warm weather. Getting to go to Disneyworld in Florida in a few weeks! I might need that SPF50 too!Ooh Disney World so much fun.

Earlier this morning I walked down the road to help one of our neighbors with her niece who is 14 and has extremely profound Down Syndrome. She's mentally about 3 or so and verbal with 2-3 words together but hard to understand the words. A very nice, sweet girl though who is very active and curious about her surroundings. A handful for her mom and auntie to care for and into everything, she needs someone responsible to watch her 24-7.

I gave Kayla her bath, washed her hair, put on her diaper and a nice summer dress. I'm teaching her to put on her own socks which she's never done before, but she doesn't understand they have a certain way they need to go on so the heel is in the right place. We'll keep working on it. Afterward she gave me a huge smile and a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. Then we walked back to my house and I'll be watching her for the next several hours. Somehow I feel that I'm getting through to her. Being able to work with Kayla has totally made my day brighter by being able to make hers brighter. :)
