Southern Chile's Puyehue just erupted and sent ash and soot(I don't know if I spelled it correctly)about 10 kilometers(sixish miles) into the air.
They evacuated about 3500 people, closing down borderlines between Argentina and Chile .Authority put a red alert on the situation.
Now ashes is coming down as a snow storm in the area ,and a giant cloud of ash could be seen in the Patagonian resort town of Bariloche in Argentina, about 100 kilometers(62 miles) east of the eruption.
"We're trying to stop car traffic and ask that people stay at home and close their doors and windows to prevent the volcanic ash from coming in. The city's airport was also closed," Carlos Hidalgo, Bariloche's communications secretary, told TN television.
"Ash was dumped like a snowstorm," he said. "The city is covered in gray ash."

Rofl people are way to over dramatic about that. Some geologist say that in can happen, but not likely within this 100 years. They say there will be a minor eruption, but not a full blown one....at least...not soon.

Whatever geologists you're listening to are lying out of their ass.
A supervolcano, such as the one under Yellowstone, is impossible to predict. Period. It's impossible to predict when it's going to erupt (As with most volcanoes), and it's impossible to predict how large, or small the eruption will be. It could have a volcanic fart, it could unleash hell. Or it could sit there for a few thounsand more years.

Yes it is very unpredictable, and I shouldv'e been waaay more clear. They said,as of NOW it's very unlikely it'll release all hell.I wouldn't be surprised if had a minor minor eruption, like pre-cum of the volcano.
